Law School Dean Hotties: Your Female Nominees

Sorry it took us so long. Without further ado, we proudly present the female nominees in our first annual Law School Dean Hotties Contest.
To review the nomination rules, click here. As we explained, you were free to nominate deans other than THE dean of the law school — e.g., deputy, assistant, or associate deans. They just needed to have “dean” somewhere in their title.
This contest has only seven contestants. But we believe that what the field may lack in quantity, it more than makes up for in quality.
Take a look at the photos and testimonials for the female finalists — and cast your vote for America’s Hottest Female Law School Deanafter the jump.

1. LEAH JACKSON
Title: Associate Dean, Baylor Law School, Waco, TX
Testimonials:
“I nominate Associate Dean Leah Jackson of the Baylor University School of Law. Pic attached. Dean Jackson is delightful to be around and easy on the eyes. But she doesn’t suffer whiny law students gladly. So watch out!”
“Dean Leah Jackson is the quintessential Lone Star State beauty. This blonde bombshell turns heads on campus left and right. People can’t believe she’s a dean — they think she’s a student. Plus, she teaches Tax: Federal Income Taxation, Corporate Taxation, and Partnership Taxation. And what’s more sexy than tax law?”
2. ELENA KAGAN
Title: Dean and Charles Hamilton Houston Professor of Law, Harvard Law School, Cambridge, MA
Testimonials:
“How could any contest for hot law school deans NOT include Elena Kagan, Dean of Harvard Law School — ‘the world’s premier center for legal education and research’? Any woman who can climb to the top of an institution as stodgy and male-dominated as HLS is a hottie per se.”
“I’m writing to nominate Elena Kagan, the current dean of my alma mater, Harvard Law School. Yeah, I know, she bears a slight resemblance to Bette Midler. But she’s (1) among the Elect (clerked on the Supreme Court for Justice Marshall), (2) former Associate Counsel to President Clinton, and (3) a one-time nominee to the D.C. Circuit — which, as we all know, is the sexiest court in the country (even more sexy than the SCOTUS). How can you say no to all that?”
3. ERIN KEYES
Title: Assistant Dean of Students, University of Minnesota Law School, Minneapolis, MN
Testimonials:
“Here’s why Erin Keyes should be nominated: I was walking down the hall behind her, admiring her fine [redacted, but not for profanity (he didn’t use THAT word); we’re scared of the Feminist Law Professors]. I asked my friend, ‘Who is that total knockout?’ He replied, in a hushed tone: ‘It’s the new dean of students.'”
“Dean Erin Keyes. The proof is in the pudding: check out the attached photo. And I SWEAR that this pic doesn’t even do her justice…”
4. TONI MASSARO
Title: Dean and Milton O. Riepe Chair in Constitutional Law, University of Arizona College of Law, Tucson, AZ
Testimonials:
“Not only is Dean Massaro brilliant, attractive, and self-assured, she’s also a cancer survivor AND a lesbian. It’s easy to make Advanced Con Law sexy, but how many Deans could get 3rd year students out of bed every morning for an 8 am class and have a packed classroom? Moreover, students just LOVE her Civil Procedure classes. I’m not kidding. Periodically, I pull out a ten year old microtape of her lecturing on venue JUST because she made it so interesting and fun.”
“They used to have a rule at Arizona that a Dean could only stay on the job for 5 years, in order to keep things interesting and fresh, and encourage all sorts of avenues of fundraising. They got rid of that rule just for Toni Massaro… She convinced a wealthy alum to give $115 million to the University of Arizona College of Law — the largest gift to any American law school. She’s not just hot, she’s scorching!!! And quite beloved.”
“One couldn’t ask for a better dean than Toni Massaro. In addition to her fantastic fundraising, she brought Justice Sandra Day O’Connor to be the Distinguished Jurist in Residence here. She also convinced Iranian Nobel Prize winner Shirin Ebadi to come aboard as a Distinguished Visiting Faculty in Human Rights.”
“But this IS a beauty contest, so I’ll talk about her beauty. I have quite the girl-crush on Toni Massaro. She doesn’t offer the blonde-ly obvious appeal of some silly ‘pop tart’ (a la Britney or Jessica). Instead, she boasts the dignified, refined beauty of a slightly older woman. Think Emma Thompson. Toni Massaro is the obvious choice for all discriminating voters in your Law School Dean hotty contest.”
5. MAUREEN A. O’ROURKE
Title: Dean, Boston University School of Law, Boston, MA
Testimonials:
“I would like to nominate Dean Maureen O’Rourke for the title of the Hottest Law School Dean. My fellow law students and I have noted her ‘foxiness’ and ‘Irish hotness.’ Her fiery exterior is complemented by her brilliant intellect. She graduated at the top of her college class and with Honors in all her classes at Yale Law School. Dean O’Rourke has it all.”
“Dean Maureen O’Rourke. This intellectual property scholar boasts a fine-boned beauty and fashionable bob haircut that immediately remind you of Winona Ryder. And Dean O’Rourke should get extra points for being THE dean of the law school, not just some Associate Dean for Uselessness.”
6. ASHA RANGAPPA
Title: Assistant Dean of Admissions, Yale Law School, New Haven, CT
Testimonials:
“I apologize in advance for ruining your contest. After you put up this nominee, the vote won’t even be close. She will lead the pack right out of the gate, and she will continue to lead until the cows come home.”
“So I’m sorry. But I couldn’t sit on the sidelines and watch someone other than Asha Rangappa win the title of Hottest Law School Dean in the United States. It would be a miscarriage of justice.”
“Asha is nothing short of stunning — an overused word, kind of like ‘brilliant’ in the pages of ATL and UTR — but so, so true. She could be a model. When I attended Yale Law School with her (she was class of 2000), she was the best-looking woman in the entire school. Not just her year, but the whole damn place. Asha Rangappa, without question!”
“I write to nominate Asha Rangappa in your beautiful law school dean contest. First, she’s a genius: Princeton, Yale Law, a Fulbright, a First Circuit clerk. Second, she’s totally badass: from 2002 to 2005, she worked in the FBI as a Special Agent, focusing on counterintelligence investigations in New York City. How cool is that?”
“Third, and most importantly, Asha is simply gorgeous. There hasn’t been this beautiful a woman in federal law enforcement since Jennifer Lopez pretended to be a U.S. US Marshal in ‘Out of Sight.’ This South Asian beauty — with her milk-chocolate skin, lively eyes, Julia Roberts smile, and reddish black tresses — will demolish the rest of your field.”
7. MARY JO WIGGINS
Title: Associate Dean, University of San Diego Law School, San Diego, CA
Testimonials:
“Dean Wiggins is hot inside and out. By far, she is one of my favorite people at USD Law. She is beautiful, elegant, and carries herself with dignity and class. She is brilliant and accomplished (see here and here), yet she’s never condescending or arrogant (unlike certain other professors).”
“Dean Wiggins is very friendly and very easy to talk to. She treats her students and colleagues with dignity and respect. But don’t take all this to mean she’s a pushover. She gives one heckuva final exam! All in all, I can’t see how anyone could surpass Dean Wiggins. Vote Mary Jo Wiggins the top LSD Hottie today!!”
