Legal Eagle Wedding Watch: November 19, 2006

The weekend of November 18-19 was a strong one for lawyer weddings (even if not as strong as November 11-12). Once again, we had to make cuts in deciding whom to write about. Here are the three couples on today’s docket:

1. Carlynn Magliano, Patrick Sweeney

2. Stefanie Silverman, Keir Ashton

3. Jessica Tisch, Daniel Levine

Ratings and reviews, after the jump.

1. Carlynn Magliano, Patrick Sweeney
Résumé score: 8.2. They met as undergraduates at Holy Cross. She went to Northeastern for law school, and he went to Boston College for law school. She’s now a legal recruiter at Preferred Placement, and he’s a litigation associate in the Hartford office of LeBoeuf Lamb.
Family score: 9.0. Her father is the chairman and CEO of Syska Hennessy Group, a large, management-owned consulting and engineering firm (2005 revenues exceeded $125 million — ka-ching). Her mother is a social studies teacher. His father is a partner in Halloran & Sage, a Hartford law firm, and his mother is a retired reading consultant at an elementary school.
Balance score: 9.0.
Beauty score: 9.0. A most attractive couple. She has a sparkling smile. He’s good-looking, but might look even better without the facial hair.
Overall score: 8.80.
Additional comments: The photo — not available online, sadly — is well-composed and distinctive. Instead to the usual Siamese-twins-joined-at-the-head pose, Patrick is playing “peekaboo” from behind Carlynn. Super cute!
2. Stefanie Silverman, Keir Ashton
Résumé score: 8.7. She’s a graduate of Tulane, now working as an architect at Beyer Blinder Belle. He graduated with a law degree from the London School of Economics (where your legal education isn’t separated from your undergraduate education). We’re suckers for all things British!
Family score: 8.6. Her father is a retired executive of a trade magazine publisher. His father is a professor of public health at the University of Liverpool, and his mother is a consultant on health issues for the government.
Balance score: 8.5. But it’s hard for an American girl to keep up with a Brit!
Overall score: 8.60.
Additional comments: The wedding was held at the Puck Building — cool venue, architecturally interesting. We’re guessing that Stephanie picked it out.
3. Jessica Tisch, Daniel Levine
Résumé score: 9.3. Jessica and Daniel met at Harvard College, from which both graduated magna. She’s now doing a joint MBA and JD program at Harvard; he’s a second-year at Harvard Business School. Paint this couple crimson!
Family score: 9.4. You might have noticed that her last name is Tisch. And yes, we’re talking about THAT Tisch family. Her father is president and CEO of the Loews Corporation. Her grandfather, Laurence A. Tisch, was a billionaire — and the family still controls the company that he founded. As for Daniel’s family — oh, who cares about his family! (For the record, his father is a lawyer for the District of Columbia, and his mother is an elementary school art teacher.)
Balance score: 8.3. Daniel seems like a smart and handsome chap. But it’s hard to keep up with a family of billionaires!
Beauty score: 9.1. Jessica and Daniel are easy on the eyes. Jessica’s hair looks red (although we can’t tell for sure from the black and white photo). And we like the swoopy way that she’s styled it. Daniel looks like a younger version of Chief Justice John Roberts — which is high praise, since he’s the #5 superhottie of the federal judiciary.
Overall score: 9.03.
Additional comments: Tisch Tisch Tisch Tisch Tisch. ‘Nuff said.
THIS WEEK’S WINNING COUPLE: This week was a bit of a blowout. But when you have a couple with five Harvard degrees and an enormous inheritance coming their way, there’s not much that can be done. The winners: JESSICA TISCH and DANIEL LEVINE. Congratulations!
