Charney v. Sullivan & Cromwell: Aaron Charney’s S&C Bio

Check out Aaron Charney’s updated bio on the Sullivan & Cromwell website:

Aaron Charney Sullivan Cromwell website Aaron B Charney Aaron Brett Charney Above the Law Above the Law Above the Law.jpg

We noticed this last night. We promptly emailed Aaron Charney:

“Are you still technically employed by S&C? You’re no longer on the website, fwiw.”

We haven’t heard back from Charney yet, even though he’s usually very prompt in responding to our emails.

We will keep you posted. If he’s no longer enjoying a (recently raised) S&C salary, we will let you know.

Is it possible for one part of a site to have so many hit that part conks out?

That sometimes happens temporarily. E.g., if the Drudge Report links to you.

But if Lat noticed this last night, and it's still like that this morning (which it is), then it's probably not a server load problem.

His name is gone off the list as well. Maybe he's gone!!!

Can't wait to hear about that severance package!!! Although I can only imagine what the severance agreement looks like!!! If true, expect the lawsuit to be withdrawn on Monday. Let's just see how this all gets spun.

I'm guessing we will never hear from Aaron Charney again. If he's off the site, it must mean he's been fired, which probably means he's settled the case for a pretty penny.

Quel dommage - that was quite a story...

Maybe this was Charney's strategy all along --- go pro se, use the press coverage to get S&C to settle, and then not have to share his bootie (pirate's, not Beyonce's) with a lawyer as part of a contingency arrangement.

Duh....

Of course that was his strategy. Of course now we are all dying to know what the $# was, and again of course we will never hear from Mr. Charney again

Charney is actually Keyser Soze. You'll never see him again.

If this is truly over, it's not the $ I'm so curious about (if there is a settlement), but the facts that caused S&C to cave in, if that's what happened. What transpired behind those prestigious doors? If the "internal investigation" discovered that partners had conducted themselves inappropriately as Aaron alleged, what are the consequences other than sharing in the cost of said supposed severance/settlement? On the upside, Charney's efforts have already put law firms everywhere on notice about anti-gay (and by extension gender and race-based) harassment, discrimination and retaliation. And that's worth more than any cash settlement could ever be.

On what date must S&C answer Charney's complaint?

XO demands credit for hacking S&C's website

His complaint's gone from his website, too. Sigh. It was entertaining while it lasted.
