Judge Larry Seidlin: What a Clown

For all of the references in his introductory remarks to being "dignified," Judge Larry Seidlin was anything but. We're mortified.

Words don't do him justice. Just watch this video clip of his ruling in the Anna Nicole Smith matter:

Some highlights (or lowlights, as the case may be):

(1) Judge Seidlin's theatrical sigh, around the one-minute mark;

(2) the start of the full-blown breakdown, at about two minutes;

(3) the judge's tear-suffused repetition of "I want her to be buried, I want her to be buried"; and

(4) Judge Seidlin's wannabe poetic conclusion: "It's a long order. It's a long order."

We take back what we said yesterday. Please, television execs, for the love of God: Do NOT give this man his own TV show.

I bet you biglaw folks will blame it on the fact that he went to a tier 2 law school. Tierists.

If that post doesn't deserve to be filed under the title "State Court Judges are Icky" I don't know what does.

Like supreme court justices never act like obnoxious asses. Listen to a few oral arguments on http://www.oyez.org/

He is crying because he knows his 15 minutes are almost up.

Tier 2 judges actually have a heart and care about the people in front of them. Unlike cold, heartless, tierist tier 1 judges.

Best excerpt from the proceedings:

At one point, referring to a dress being made for Smith's burial, Seidlin's face soured as he expressed his general discomfort over funeral details.

"This is the one area I always ran away from — the death," Seidlin said.

It prompted amused attorney Stephen Tunstall to note wryly, "But you're a probate judge," referring to the type of judge whose job is to deal with wills.

WHAT A DOOSHBAG!

Gimme a break... no wonder state judges get no respect.

Perhaps this judge could have handled himself and the proceedings a bit better, but I think it is unfortunate that the media is trying to brand him as an idiot or some kind of crazy guy. Have you never been in state court before? There are judges out there all over the country that have their own unique way of doing things that might not adhere to the simple, by-the-book approach you might expect in a U.S. District Court. Nevertheless, they get things done and should not be treated with as much disrespect as this judge has been.

He said: "I want her buried with her son in the Bahamas." Pardon me but what the f*@k does what the judge wants have to do with anything? He supposed to decide the case given the law. Where did this guy go to law school?

5:07, are you kidding? Have you been watching? No evil media needs to *brand* this asshole anything when he acts like a drama queen on the bench.

Is it just me or does the honorable Seidlin have an uncanny resemblance to Gargamel from the Smurfs??

SNL did a pretty good job pegging him:

To the law student, there are standards and there are lack of standards, one being required by judges and one being the life of Larry the Judge Seidlin.

See my URL to see how the really bad judges in Florida tuly behave.

And the SNL show was good but I could watch SNL do it much more and longer with pleasure than seeing the real horrendous miscast bumbler and blubberer.

The sad thing is that he seemed to care about the case.
