Legal Eagle Wedding Watch: January 14, 2007

No, we have not canceled Legal Eagle Wedding Watch. We’re just a little behind. Okay, very far behind.
So let’s not waste any more time. For the weekend of January 13-14, we’ll take a look at these three couples:

1. Jordan Chattman, Joseph Shumofsky

2. Johanna Francis, William Stroever

3. Daniella Steger, David Steinberg

Scores and full reviews for these newlyweds, after the jump.

1. Jordan Chattman, Joseph Shumofsky
Résumé score: 8.6. She’s a Tufts grad and the director of donor relations at the Jewish Theological Seminary. He’s a Cornell and Fordham Law grad, and an associate in the New York office of Dorsey & Whitney, which the NYT surprisingly gives the indefinite article treatment: “a Minneapolis law firm.”
Family score: 8.8. Her father is a partner at Orloff, Lowenbach, Stifelman & Siegel, a law firm in Roseland, NJ. It’s a decent-sized firm, with about 20 lawyers. But it’s not as stunningly prestigious as Gallion & Spielvogel, and it needs better photography on its website. His father is a surgeon, which is always a good thing.
Beauty score: 8.7. Both have teeth that are worthy of a toothpaste commercial. She’s quite cute, with a little Selma Blair going on.
Balance score: 8.9. They were meant to be together. They met in late 2004 “at the Matzo Ball, a party for Jewish singles.”
Overall score: 8.75.
Additional comments: You can watch a video about their courtship here. Jordan seems quite sweet, although a bit needy. If you have six minutes to kill, watch the video and see if you agree.
2. Johanna Francis, William Stroever

Résumé score: 8.2. They met at Haverford College. Johanna went to law school at the University of Connecticut, where she hopefully avoided parties like this one. William received his law degree from Boston College. They are currently serving as law clerks to state court judges in southern New Jersey.
Family score: 9.0. Her father is an executive recruiter at the Haggan-Ricci Group in Armonk, NY. Her mother manages a bridal store. His father is the president and CEO of a tissue bank, and his mother is a vice chairman of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. That last item — the DAR connection — is what accounts for the high family score.
Beauty score: 9.1. Very good-looking. She has a pale, luminous beauty that reminds us of Julianne Moore. He’s very handsome as well (although a bit darker in complexion than one would expect from the son of a DAR member).
Balance score: 8.4. This would be higher if Johanna had something to match the DAR connection of Mrs. Stroever.
Overall score: 8.68. They’re attractive and well-pedigreed. But they clerk for state court judges — and you know how we feel about THEM…
3. Daniella Steger, David Steinberg
Résumé score: 8.9. She graduated from Barnard (cum laude), and now works as a financial analyst at Coach. Hey Daniella — can you get us a discount? He went to Columbia for college and is now a 3L at NYU. He didn’t make our slate of NYU 3L hotties. But he is going to Davis Polk after graduation, so that countes for something.
Family score: 9.0. Her father is the chairman and CEO of a company that conducts clinical drug trials; her mother is the company’s CFO. His father is a cardiologist, and his mother is the executive director of Beth Tfiloh Congregation in Baltimore.
Balance score: 8.8.
Overall score: 8.90.
Additional comments: They’re a solid, stolid couple.
THIS WEEK’S WINNING COUPLE: This week in LEWW was fairly straightforward. Congratulations to DANIELLA STEGER and DAVID STEINBERG!!!
