If BC Law Goes Up Five Spots in U.S. News Next Year, Here’s Why

Barstool Sports Adrienne Boston College BC Law School Above the Law.jpgMeet Adrienne (at right), a 22-year-old hottie from South Carolina — and a current student at Boston College Law School.

Adrienne graces the cover of the current issue of Barstool Sports. We are not familiar with this publication, but we are advised that it is “a prestigious biweekly magazine.”

In our opinion, the cover photograph isn’t even the best picture of this comely young lawyer-in-training. We think this shot and this one are both superior. To review Adrienne’s photo gallery for yourself, click here.

Adrienne — who will be making an appearance next Thursday, March 15, from 9 to 11 p.m., at an establishment called “Whiskey’s” — is studying for a JD. But based on her interview, it sounds like she’s also pursuing her MRS:

Honestly, my dream job would be being a housewife and stay at home Mom. I should have been born in the 1950s I love to wear dresses and aprons, cook, clean, sew, and take care of other people.

I’m a total homebody. That doesn’t mean I won’t still put my law degree to good use, but being an amazing wife and mom is definitely going to be my first priority.

Hmm… What would Judge Richard Posner think of “Adrienne, Esq.,” becoming a stay-at-home mom? Click here for his thoughts.

Personally, we think it would be a pity for Adrienne’s legal skills to go unused:

7. What’s your best spring break memory?

I plead the fifth.

Someone certainly knows her criminal law!

Oh wait. No one at Harvard is remotely this hot (but you still have the MRS crowd ... imagine that).

Technically it is a Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination. See Lat's case note:

Doofus: The commonly accepted idiom is "take" the Fifth, as Bryan Garner's Modern American Usage makes clear. And, yes, I did quite well in law school, thanks.

avatar
17 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, March 8, 2007 1:02 PM

She isn't very pretty though. Wierd face adn too skinny

avatar
18 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, March 8, 2007 1:02 PM

Coincidentally, Garner's Usage Tip of the Day from February 14 included the following: "Fifth Amendment. The idiom is 'take the Fifth,' not "plead the Fifth.'"

avatar
19 Posted by Doofus | Permalink Thursday, March 8, 2007 1:04 PM

Just because something is a commonly accepted idiom does not make it intelligent. You do not "take" a right or a privilege. You can invoke one, or you can rely on one. Where would you "take" one? "Took the fifth" is a commonly used idiom because morons see it on tv. good luck taking a right somewhere. You'd be better off invoking it. This board is full of a bunch of fools.

avatar
20 Posted by Umm... | Permalink Thursday, March 8, 2007 1:09 PM

I took a crap. Want to read that idiom literally, too?

avatar
21 Posted by Doofus | Permalink Thursday, March 8, 2007 1:11 PM

Once again, just because an expression is used does not mean it is intelligent. Case in point. You used a stupid expression, most likely because you are a stupid person. You are free to use whatever stupid expressions you want. Just recognize that they are stupid. Don't cite a textbook and argue what you are saying is "correct" like that birdbrain. Understand now, my stupid friend?

avatar
22 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, March 8, 2007 1:20 PM

the fifth amendment protects you from governmental action. the interviewer is most likely a private party. therefore, the fifth is unavailable to her in the situation described.

avatar
23 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, March 8, 2007 1:25 PM

Doofus: I never claimed the idiom was intelligent, though I take it (ahem) we could debate the point. Lat said that Adrienne's use of "plead the fifth" shows she "knows her criminal law." I merely pointed out that she chose the incorrect idiom. Even if the correct idiom makes no sense, her failure to use the common language used by criminal lawyers and members of the public bears on whether she knows her criminal law. (And, on that score, Garner's text is pretty good evidence of how that language is used.) Your point would be valid only if she used the technically more accurate "invoke the fifth," and I then criticized her as not conforming to casual usage.

avatar
24 Posted by you people are so pedantic | Permalink Thursday, March 8, 2007 1:31 PM

1. Adrienne was making a joke when she referred to the Fifth Amendment (right, privilege, pled, taken, invoked, -whatever).

2. Lat was making a joke when he said Adrienne "knows her criminal law."

Can we for stop being lawyers for just five minutes? Can we sit back and enjoy Adrienne's hotness?

Her brains? Clearly of high intelligence. But here's an idea, have a conversation with her yourself to find out.

While you all are sitting there attacking this girl (that none of you can hold a candle too) I am sure it makes you feel better about your unrewarding lifes/jobs etc.

As for the BC admin. they don't have a leg to stand on. Freedom of Speech, Press etc. Want to talk about something that looks bad for a law school? That would be unjust action taken against someone fully exercising their constituional rights.

However their closemindeness judgemental attitudes are refelcted on their student body.

I agree, no one who knew Adrienne would have something negative to say about her...

I think that you should be disgusted with yourselves for talking about someone-anyone-in such a fashion. No matter what you may think of her, she is still human, a person with feelings, and no one is immune to the cruel comments being slewn across these posts.

You're clearly jealous (if you're a girl) or bitter (if you're a guy) that you could never even fathom getting a girl like Adrienne...which is probably why you're in Law School...to make lots of money so maybe you can find some superficial bitch who will give you the time of day since the quality ones never would

Great community showing BC! I find it funny with everyone calling her a tranny. None of you women are remotely atractive at law school (sorry, it's true), and most of the guys would kill for a night with her.

After seeing all these comments, I am sllightly refreshed that the legal profession is nowhere near as politically correct or pro women's rights as it claims to be.

good job setting an example and being such a wonderful leader for all the kids in society. the Last thing this world need is another pitiful soul like you... a person who obviously has to purchase her looks to feel even remotely decent about herself. and i'm sorry, this is not an example of "pro women's rights" as the last idiot wrote. women's rights, as i feel i should correct, are something that we have been fighting for - for decades. we have spent Decades trying to get men to look at us as brilliant individuals who can be known for their place outside of the kitchen and bedroom. the last thing this world needs (and corporate america needs) is a loser like you who can't even stand tall for who she is in her own Real skin. didn't your parents teach you anything? you should feel truly and utterly ashamed of yourself for the example you have set and the life you are leading.

i hope that Dean Wylie kicks you to the curb and sets an example for the entire professional community.

109 Posted by Supporting Adrienne | Permalink Thursday, March 8, 2007 10:09 PM

She should be proud of standing up for what she believes in. Just because you don't agree with her values, doesn't mean she shouldn't have them or express them. If she had come out of the closet, you would be supporting her. But because she stands up and says I am beautiful look at me and I want to be a housewife, you are crucifying her. Kudos to Adrienne for taking a stand for what she believes in and actually not being afraid to say she wants to be a stay at home mom. There are plenty of phenominal women that are housewives and they do a damn good job at raising the next leaders of tomorrow. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean you should denegrate someone who does! At least Adrienne knows what she wants and shes doing it! Good for her!

If the Dean kicks her out, I would be the first one to fight to help keep her in and I am sure I wouldn't be the only one.

This is so ridiculous. Leave her alone. I seriously doubt she did anything to any of you that are writing about her. I doubt that you have even spoken to her before. Talking shit on a bunch of forums using pseudonyms does not make you any cooler nor do I really think it is going to make you feel any better about yourself. Adrienne is not single handedly reversing any womens rights movements, dropping BC Law in any rankings, or injuring anyones current or possible future jobs. Get a life.

113 Posted by Rudy | Permalink Thursday, March 8, 2007 11:45 PM

I am extremely embarrased to go to BC Law right now, but not because of Adrienne. I am embarrassed for the way that some in the BC Law community are talking about a person. That and that alone makes me regret coming to BC Law.

I know Adrienne from class, and she is a very kind, smart person. I wish her only the best.
Nonetheless, I really have to question the wisdom of posing for these pictures with the BC crest clearly displayed across her chest. What no one here has mentioned is the right that private educational institutions have to promote a code of mores and morals...and it could well be within the legal rights of BC to determine that posing in this manner with a BC logo prominently displayed is a violation of this code (we should all consult that little booklet that we were given in orientation about expected behaviors, etc) and she could suffer consequences because of this.
I do feel very bad for her.

I think the time has come for a vote! Are you pro-Adrienne or against? Let's get over the "I support her" or "I'm against her" and get back to the mudslinging.

I love how the comments last night went til 12:23 am and started back up at 6:14 am. It's like a train wreck - it's terrible but you just can't look away!

I don't really feel sorry at all for her for getting this ridicule. Come on, you pose for a skin magazine and you're going to attract commentary about yourself, like it or not. She's obviously seeking publicity based on her appearance, and she does not get to control if it's good or bad.

Now, on the other hand, I DO feel outraged over the other women getting attacked on xoxo etc. -- they didn't put themselves out there in the same way.

Great Job Faker-silly me, there I was thinking that "Women's Right's" enabled us to have the same rights as men. In other words, the right to choose what we want to do, the right to do what we want (within the realms of the law).

No one criticizes you, "Great Job Faker", for being an enormously bitter bitch, so lets extend the same courtesy to Ms. Adrienne. So if Adrienne wants to take off her clothes and look great while doing it, fantasic. All the better for her.

I think the reason that all of you law students are upset is because you have to work your ass off to stay in school and do well... and Adrienne, who is just as qualified and intelligent as you all are, is not doing doing well in school...but also has the time to 1) work out 2) look hot in magazines 3) have a life outside of the library or aimlessly staring at the walls of her cubicle. wow.

Yeah, I guess you all DO have the last laugh.

I know Adrienne as well, and it's actually kind of cool that someone with model looks can be a kind, thoughtful, intelligent law student, and that a law student can be someone with model looks. She lives her life differently than you. Get over it.

In fact, she's a perfectly normal girl and is really friendly/personable. Obviously this woman is very beautiful and is a great model. But she's a law student!
I'm a law student, and as a female this really disappoints me. You have to carry yourself professionally if you want to be taken seriously. Adrienne's pics are showing too much to be remotely professional or tasteful. Not only is she unlikely to be taken seriously, but it reflects badly on other woman law students as well.
