CNN story above: state corrections officers suffocate a 14-year old boy and then settle the resulting lawsuit for $5 million.

Comment from the Charney thread a few days ago:
"$10 million? Try $50,000,000. S&C is going to be punished hard with punitives for their egregious harassment."

Yeah. Sure.

Charney's just lucky that he stole client documents from S&C. If he had sought personal revenge by stealing Krautheimer's pants, the $65 million counter-claim would put him in a deep hole.

For all of our sakes, let's hope the personnel offices at Biglaw firms don't learn that $5 million is the going rate for suffocating irritating youngsters.

I'd love to stay and chat longer, but I have to go screw a hot chick whose job application I'm about to reject. But don't worry about her: if she's any good in bed, I'll write her a nice reference for Akin Gump, or at least put her in contact with the good folks at Playboy.

Who writes this stuff?
