Programming Note: ATL Office Hours in New York
Do you work for a law firm in Midtown Manhattan? If so, feel free to drop in and say hello to your undersigned writer.
Last night we drove up from our regular base of operations, Washington, DC, to the Big Apple. Right now we’re hanging out, and working from, the Starbucks on the northeast corner of 51st and Broadway.
If you have some gossip you’d like to share — stuff that’s too juicy to send us by email — please swing by. Or just come by and say hi. (And do leave us with one of your business cards, so we can add you to the list of tipsters we use to verify information about specific firms.)
Hope to see some of you later today, when you’re on a lunch or coffee break. Thanks!
(After the jump: A random photo we took this morning, while walking through Rockefeller Center, of Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira, of the Today show, with Antonio Banderas.)
It’s a thumbnail image, so you can click on it to enlarge. Nice two-tone pumps, Meredith!

Kirkland D.C. SUCKS.
Watch out, Lat, Maury S. is going to come uptown and beat the crap out of you...
Try to avoid the Death Star's Tractor Beam.
what does Lat know about women's shoes?
Good location. You're walking distance to a lot of the biggies: Cravath, Skadden, Wachtell, Paul Weiss...
Take a poll of the Starbucks workers on what they think a first-year lawyer makes?
is Lat intentionally staying away from downtown [S&C]?
Good point, 11:26. Stroock is downtown too (180 Maiden Lane).
Then again, downtown sucks, so I don't blame him.
"Lattes with Lat!" What if Mr. Cohen shows up?

11:21: A lot.
Ever read his old blog, Underneath Their Robes? The man knows the difference between pumps, kitten heels, stilettos, mules, strappy sandals, clogs, wedge heels. He knows more about women's footwear than I do.
Scary.
is Lat an Asian Al Bundy?
No, he's just gay.
No - he's just gay.
There are TWO Starbucks in the Death Star.
That Starbucks is where I used to study as a 1L. Beware the church group from Times Square Church across the street, they'll start bugging you for legal advice and asking you to come to their service . . . after all, it's non-denominational!
Lat, when will you be holding Portland office hours? Your Oregon fans await!
