Lawsuit of the Day: Yet Another Borat Lawsuit

Borat Above the Law Legal Blog Law Gossip Borat.JPGSeveral months ago, the world was awash in Borat litigation. But then things died down on that front.

Now they're heating up again. From a tipster:

Check out this lawsuit. Although the damages claim might be a little silly, it seems like this guy might have a valid claim -- he didn't sign a waiver like those frat boys.

I'm a corporate lawyer, so I have no idea. I'd love to see what some litigator types think about it.

An excerpt from the complaint appears at Gothamist; the entire document is posted over at The Smoking Gun.

When I first heard about this, my thought was, "this guy has a considerably better case than the frat boys."

But, this will likely settle because his damages are going to be so small.

That was, hands down, one of the funniest scenes in the movie. Doesn't mean the guy doesn't have a case, but the image of him running in fear from Borat was unbelievable.

Another fucking sackless profiteer. It's shit like this that brings ridicule down on the entire American judicial system.

Aren't these waivers all based on fraud? Wasn't the basis of the film misrepresented? 2:32 should be something other than a lawyer.

3:55 -- there was no waiver for this dude, he was a random street walker. Anyhoo, dude is probably just upset that he came off like a scared little weenie in the movie, which was probably an accurate portrayal. If I were the judge I would award him nothing and force him to wear a giant dildo on his head for a week.
