* Oh, those crazy French people. They eat the darnedest things! [Conglomerate]
* A shameless (and belated) plug: we were interviewed last week by NPR’s Mike Pesca, for an interesting story about Jonathan Lee Riches and his wacky pro se lawsuits. (We appear around the 2:30 mark.) [NPR]
* Blawg Review #123 — in the form of a judicial opinion. Very clever! [Texas Appellate Law Blog via Blawg Review]

The French... up to no good.
I wonder if the French would eat Dewey LeBouef.
the NPR people talking so seriously about jonathan lee riches (c) and his claims cracks me up. i'm dying with laughter here...i still owe you big for tipping me off to such funny lawsuits.
and yeah...they have an archive of some of the dismissal documents on wikipedia. they're all pretty pro forma.
Can you do a thread on exit strategies from law firms? How the fuck do you get out of here???
Watch out, or I'll sue you, and Michael Vick, and Barry Bond's bat, and, and, and...
Maybe it works differently at different courts, but it seems like Riches's case would have been handled by a staff attorney or pro se law clerk, whose job it is exclusively to work on prisoner litigation. If it's a staff attorney, he or she might be making six figures. But then again, it probably would only take him or her 15 minutes to find the right template for denial, so the overall cost to taxpayers would be even less than NPR speculated.
Any chance of a post about Sen. Larry Craig (D-Idaho). He just pled guilty to lewd conduct in an airport bathroom. He's not a lawyer but he is a lawmaker. Who knew all the Republicans would turn out to be gay?!
Whoops, that's R-Idaho.
And a very anti-gay "R" at that!
Hey 5:21 (8/27), here's your exit strategy:

Given the above article on potential lay-offs, LAT, how about a thread to discuss the last round (s) of layoffs (i.e. which firms laid people off) and any word currently filling the halls of top firms?
