Wherein the MSM Reports What We Reported Last Month

Michael Vick middle finger Abovethelaw Above the Law blog.jpgGuess we can't get no respect from the mainstream media. Not even from Fox News, which carries a story that we brought you last month.

Meanwhile, in other Michael Vick developments, lawyers for the Falcons quarterback are working on getting him a plea deal. From the Atlanta Journal Constitution:

Atlanta lawyer Dan Meachum, a member of Vick's defense team, declined to comment Tuesday on any possible negotiations.

"I stand by Michael Vick," Meachum said. "He's a good kid in a bad situation. I'm a dog owner, a dog lover. I would not be involved in this case if I didn't believe in him."

And some of his best friends are black Labradors!

it makes me sick that Vick will serve time for letting his pit bulls wrestle around with each other when much worse activities (fox hunting, marlin or sport fishing, trophy hunting) are perfectly acceptable. What a joke and a railroading ..

Fox News is mainstream?

11:29, do you feel the same way regarding alcohol vs. marijuana?

Whether other activities are more reprehensible is a matter of policy. And whether or not you like the laws on dogfighting, Vick appears to have broken those laws. What about him being punished for breaking the law makes you "sick"?

Maybe you're a Falcons fan. If so, take comfort in the fact that they weren't going to be any good with Vick anway.

Catching and releasing a Marlin is morally equivalent to training dogs to fight and shooting the loser in the head? Umkay

I heard some of the local takeout establishments had an expanded menu during Vick's run as leader of the pack. Can anyone in confirm that?

The defense will accept anything less than a year in jail? I think that's ridiculous. They should have dropped the superseding indictment and then played hardball for a couple years.

I wouldn't exactly characterize back-woods dog fights as "pit bulls wrestling around."

When my dog "wrestles" with my buddy's dog (a) its not on a blood-soaked piece of carpet; (b) neither dog dies; and (c) if my dog "looses" and doesn't die, I don't execute it by hanging, drowning, beating, electricution, etc.

Hate to be a copycat poster, but good job on the black lab joke, Lat! Even a non-lawyer would laugh out loud at that one.

Who is the dork, the one who can't spell "lose" or the one who points it out?

I vote for the person who doesn't know how to spell.
