This is hysterical. Not because WGWAG is inherently funny (although I think it is), but because the original poster resurrected an ancient (by internet standards) "discussion" that used to go on on the Craigslist "Missed Connections" board around 2000. This was back when Craiglist was Bay Area-only, and there were no "discussion forums" (and the idea of a blog, much less a blog comments section was unheard of). Missed Connections used to be the general outlet for discussing frivolous issues like this (it's obviously a bit different these days).

As I recall, it was an Asian dude, believe in the East Bay, who started it off by complaining "what's with all the asian girls with white guys?", and then it went from there. Glad to see that no idea ever dies on the internet.

As a Boalt alum, I can attest that the vast majority of Asian women students were with Asian men.

And yes, Asian men do date women of other races. Take Boalt's Professor Goodwin Liu, an all around academic all-star, who has a wife that happens to be white.

This post is borderline racist, I'd have expected it from auto admit, but not Above the Law. In a society where power and wealth is still heavily concentrated with white men, socio economic factors play a role in who we date and marry.

Uh, Hot Asian Female, the real issue is why are you insecure about relationships between Asian females and none-Asian men? And why are you stereotyping the white guy? While I am human first, I fall into the white male category due to my family's ethnic background. I dated a hot Asian girl - a really hot Asian girl - from Asia - because I liked her for who she is - and you know what? I asked her to marry me. We had a Chinese wedding, and I wore the traditional Chinese man's outfit (with hat) for our wedding photos. We keep a pretty traditional Chinese household where she is firmly in charge (Asian women are extremely strong - politeness in public has been mistaken for submissiveness). Cantonese is spoken in our household along with English. I got her a "confinement lady" for the month following the birth of our son. Dear son is now 4, learning wife's language and will be shipped offf to weekend Chinese school when he's old enough. When he's older, he will also be shipped off to the in-laws in Asia for the summer. So there, pissy Asian female. Good Lord, law students and lawyers are such cry-babies with axes to grind. Thank God I dropped out of law school and became an accountant.
