Most Eligible Bachelor Becomes Considerably Less Eligible

People Most Eligible Bachelor issue cover Above the Law blog.jpgOh how the mighty have fallen. From the Miami Herald:

A Boston defense attorney once dubbed one of People Magazine’s Most Eligible bachelors was arrested for allegedly drugging and raping a college student he met at a Miami Beach nightclub.

Gary Zerola — already facing trial in two sexual attacks in Boston — was arrested last Friday night and booked into Miami-Dade County jail. Miami Beach police charged Zerola, 36, with sexual battery.

Once known for his work on behalf of foster children, Zerola was also a candidate to star in the first season of ABC’s reality hit The Bachelor,” according to Boston media reports.

More discussion, plus a photo of the handsome defendant, after the jump.

We wonder how these latest charges will affect the views of Zerola fan “Winnie”:

Three years ago I picked up the issue of People’s Magazine’s 50 Most Eligible Bachelor and that was when I first saw a picture of Gary Zerola. I couldn’t believe how amazingly beautiful and gorgeous this guy was… To me he looked way better than any of the average celebs.

Recently I’ve realized that all the guys I’ve gone for as of the past 2 1/2 years have a lot of resemblance to Gary Zerola. I think that picture alone made me change what type of guys I enjoyed looking at physically. Anyways, I’ve been going through your site and I just can not find a single picture of Gary Zerola….

Can you provide me with a link of some better pics or if you have any yourself?

Gary Zerola People Most Eligible Bachelor Above the Law blog.jpgHere you go, Winnie. Check out Gary Zerola’s mug shot, at right.

One final irony: Gary Zerola is a former prosecutor, in Suffolk and Essex Counties. But maybe that doesn’t mean much anymore. Remember John David Atchison?

Rape is never funny, but the phrase "Dade rape" is kinda funny...

Any chance on seeing pics from the eligible bachelor issue? Cause now all he's eligible for is 15 to 20.

What, Lat, no line about him becoming eligible in a new kind of way in prison? That kind of creative, witty joke normally is right up your alley.

Anyway, someone at People mag should feel like a real @ss right now. I suspect "most eligible bachelor" was also meant to indicate that the person has some degree of decency.

Quick Lat, make a prison rape joke!

I was surprised at how up in arms everyone got over that brief prison-sex reference Lat made a few weeks ago. I had no idea ATL had such a wide readership among ex-cons.

Lat called him handsome... does that mean he finally came out?

Lat's use of "handsome" seemed ironic to me. But I'd hit it.

I love the look on his face. "Uh, oh! I got caught making a boo-boo! Naughty, *naughty* Gary. I'm sowwy!"

If this is true, he should be drugged and raped in prison.

So..what is it about lawyers forcing themselves on people? Jim Colliton from Cravath, Creepy Miami Prof, and now this? Get some a$$ the old fashioned way people--leave the office and go to a bar...no need to involve drugs though! Goodness.

I'm surprised the police actually arrested him. I've heard several rumours lately about attorneys engaging in over-the-line behavior, and I keep hearing that the police won't touch them. I guess we can chalk it up to yet another perk of working in BigLaw.

Funny how everyone finds this guy guilty before he gets to trial. He is a highly sucessfull criminial attorney that is disliked by both the Procuter and the Boston Police due to his sucess. This guy makes them look bad and they are after him like a legalized mob.

Looking at his picture - this guy just creeps me out. Hoping he ends up in jail as someone's beeeatch just to drive the point home. Buy this guy some soap on a rope....
Oh, and any lawyer with typos on his website (and a picture like that) deserves a slap..shame shame shame

I don't buy the witch hunt plea that "D" is professing. To have 3 women, in different states no less, claim this guy raped them, is just a little too compelling. If it quacks like a duck, looks like a duck and walks like a duck, well my friend odds are, it's a duck. A law degree doesn't alter the facts. I seem to recall a very well respected prominent lawyer from Florida who was recently caught flying to Michigan to share his "love" with a 6 year old girl. Money and education does not confer moral integrity. So "D" ya think the child molester was framed too since he was a lawyer? At least that dude was "gentle" or so he explained to the cop posing as her mother. He said he was always gentle with the little girls. Bunch of pervs...the both of them.

12+ Victims of Gary Zerola:
4 victims of Gary Zerola testified under oath about what happened to them. After reports of the 2006 Victim went public I have heard of at least 3 more victims who have gone forward and told police similiar situations. Below are a few blogs about 5 other victims of "Scary Gary". So far there are A DOZEN women whom all claim they were attacked by Gary Zerola. There are many more blogs posted by other victims of "Gary Z". Think about it. He is clearly a serial rapist and "Baby ZEROLA" NEEDS TO BE STOPPED.

"Boston magazine has found reference in court documents to prosecutors' allegations of a fourth incident, involving a young woman who claims her friends had to whisk her away from Zerola after he allegedly drugged her, though no charges were ever brought."
-Boston Magazine

"4 years ago Gary Z managed to gain the trust of my family through business ties he has with my father and then drugged and raped my sister as soon as he had a minute alone with her. Luckily he never got his hands on me. This loser behind being put away is the best news I've ever heard! I can only hope that his fellow inmates teach him what it feels like to be manhandled."
-RT,
Boston Herald

"a similar situation happened to me with gary, but i never reported it, and i was also 18 years old."
-a girl,
Boston Herald

"Gary Zerola raped two friends of mine about 9 years ago. The last thing they remember was Gary buying them drinks at West St. Bar. They woke up naked next to Gary in the morning. Gary made sure he put enough drugs in their drinks so they wouldn't remember how they got there. They do know that they were raped. Neither of them had ever blacked out before in their lives. Read the blogs on Gary Zerola.... other's have similar stories"

these girls are absolutely telling the truth. how do i know? i'm in the same boat. i hope gary is miserable and tainted for the rest of his life, just like the girls he abused."
