Non-Sequiturs: 11.09.07
It's Friday, just shy of 5 PM Eastern time. Where are the bonus announcements? The silence is suspicious. If you're sitting on bonus news that we haven't reported, please reach out to us by email (subject line: "Associate Bonus Watch"). Thanks.
* Ann Althouse: We love it when she gets medieval -- or should we say me-diva? -- on a hapless blogger's a**. [Althouse]
* Jesse Sneed: The Indiana University law student, who riddled his casebooks with bullets, is going home to grandma. [Blogonaut]
* Tim Wu: These ladies aren't the only ones in love with the high-profile prof; Google thinks he's pretty cool, too. [BusinessWeek]
* Barry Richard: S**tstirrer extraordinaire. [National Law Journal]

First????????
Blurst
I'm nervous about the lack of bonus news on a Friday afternoon ... what gives?
And why are the posts on this site showing up halfway down the page? Anyone else?
5:06: Are you using Internet Explorer? You should switch to Firefox.
Not first!!!!!
5:06, refresh your browser - I think the problem has been fixed.
Lat, perhaps send us into the weekend discussing the 2007 Summer Associate Survey:

Fixed now - thanks.
Somebody please send in a bonus memo to give us something to forward to our co-workers until we check out for the weekend. Thanks.

I think with the stock market bleeding like a Tarantino film extra, partners are either too busy calling their brokers or figuring out what associates are likely to get axed in the inevitable recession to really give much thought to how to lose more money by raising bonuses. Just a thought but this afternoon's statement by JP Morgan about fruit rotting on the vine should give you a clue.
I (heart) Tim Wu.
ow! get that brainless wingnut water carrier's image off my screen!
Please dont do the link to the crazy wingnut lady who claims to be liberal and goes off on everything and everyone who is liberal.
Hello she substitutes for Instanwinger when he's at the KKK meeting or his bat shit crazy wife who can cure the gays.
Oh I almost forget....she voted for Al Gore don't you know
Althouse is a joke-- why do you persist in linking to her? "Diva" implies some level of wit or talent combined with a bitchy attitude; Althouse notably lacks the former.
P.S. I see her in the Brooklyn Heights Starbucks all the time. She looks way older in person than she does on her blog.
I *double heart* Tim Wu. I had him as a professor in his first year of being a professor at UVA. He's a really, really bright, personable and nice guy. I'm happy that really interesting and good things are happening for him.
Althouse is so 2005.
Oh my god, are you serious? You linked to that no talent ass-clown, Althouse, for that post? Pathetic! She sucks as a prof. She's non-partisan just like Rush Limbaugh or Stephanie Miller. And, she's hideous. Make it stop!
Altmouse, where did you go?
What does that idiot Althouse's witless rant about lefty bloggers have to do with this site? Goddammit I hate it when Lat does his propaganda shit.
I like the fact that Althouse has no clue whatsoever about the distinction between style and substance. It makes her far easier to ignore, or ridicule, when someone else brings her up.
I find the recent attention that Ann has paid to others' weights somewhat ironic. One would think that while casting stones from that more than adequately sized glass house, she'd have at least caught a glimpse of her own reflection.
Special message to Ann: Wheeee! I'm making ad hominems!
Althouse is neither witty or humorous. She is an old woman who is looking for attention.
And speaking of weight, hello Pot and Kettle-she is one big marshy doughy fat "feminist".
You like Althouse? I find nothing impressive about someone who used to be a respectable enough (though not star-quality) law professor, and now evidently wishes she were one of the commentators on VH1.
OK, I'll bite. Althouse is a total joke. I only read her when she says something so dumb that someone I know feels compelled to send it to me. Her rants and (attempts at) insults rarely make sense, but the more serious crime is that they lack the so-bad-its-good quality of similarly ill-informed bloggers/columnists. Please stop linking to her. Seriously.

8:06, saying something is "so {YEAR}" is so 2002.
Last word on AA:

So Althouse is great when she criticizes someone for criticizing the war in a creative way?
Come to think of it, "Above the Law" might be a good slogan for the trashing of the Geneva Conventions.
I adore Ann Althouse. She sometimes comes unhinged, but she is consistently provocative and entertaining. There is a reason she has such a big readership.
The Wu Girls are hot!
I don't normally comment on stuff like this, but I hate Althouse so much that I was going to post something pointless about how much I hate her just to make myself feel better. Fortunately, I'm apparently not the only one - good to know!
Dear 9:23. Hi Ann.
Nope, not Ann. I wasn't being sarcastic. I really do loathe that bitch.
