Hey Lat,

The law firm clerkship recruiting season is picking up, with a lot of clerks' cocktail parties scheduled in the next few weeks in NY. How about an open thread for clerks to discuss firms?

Lat,
How bout a thread on the base jumper suing the Empire State Building? Some sweet issues in that one that would generate quite a few comments....

Lat how about a thread with a list of shame for firms, big and small, that haven't stepped up and offered clerkship bonuses to make up for the salary hit you take to clerk for a year.

The only thing Randy Moss battered was NFL defensive backs all season.

10:33 - Firm's clerkship bonuses reflect the value they attribute to an individual's clerkship experience. Clearly, you place a higher value on your clerking experience than the rest of the world.

10:43 = not offered any of the clerkships for which he interviewed

Also, 10:43 is probably a pirate whereas 10:33 is definately a Ninja. Ninjas get clerkships, pirates don't.

10:48 - Don’t be upset because you realize your clerkship experience is devoid of any value, as evidenced by the nominal clerkship bonuses. You would have been better off working for a large firm straight out of law school, but I understand that mediocre people need all the experience they can get before applying to a prestigious job, much like my own.

****PS: I didn’t apply to any clerkships because I knew (unlike yourself) that I would never recoup the time invested. I am sorry you wasted your time on a clerkship, but don’t be upset simply because firms place little-to-no value on your clerkship experience (and I use the term "experience" loosely)

My art has been commended as being strongly vaginal. Which bothers some men. The word itself makes some men uncomfortable. Vagina.

11:07 - I can understand why you didn't want the "experience" of a clerkship. I don't blame you. I know there aren't any bonus for a clerkship when you do temp doc review.

**P.S. - I was asking for those who are going to work in MidLaw to BigLaw.

10:05:

Naw, the judge just got pissed becase dubshit OJ was ordered as a bail conditon not to contact the allegd victim and he did anyway.

I saw it on TV, and the Vegas judge who made the order was wearing her emotions (mainly anger) and is apparently (excuse the expression) a real bitch.

She aslo insisted that OJ post 15% of the bail with the court IN CASH--on top of the bail bond- ($39,000) so it was an expensive phone call.

Poor OJ. He has really gotten pathetic.

Wages of sin, I guess.

Moss is a blazing fast superstar athlete you can't judge him by the normal person standard - he is entitled to slap a bitch around now and again.
