Susan Estrich: Bcc Conscientious Objector?

Susan Estrich Fox News Quinn Emanuel Supreme Court clerk Above the Law blog.jpgMore news from one of ATL's favorite law firms, Quinn Emanuel. See Gawker and Radar.

If your friends are as fabulous as Susan Estrich's, why hide them behind a bcc?

Query: Could this actually be a brilliant viral marketing ploy? Has Susan Estrich harnessed the power of the blogosphere to get all the world to read her paean to QE?

The photo of SE accompanying the linked Radar article must be 1. 20 years old and 2. retouched.

In addition to being utterly obnoxious, Ms. E is a total hag.

I cringe equally when I see her or the Clinton turncoat-pervert (got religion now, even fatter, now I embrace conservative values) Dick Morris.

Unlike Morris, SE means well, but PLEASE Fox, do not pollute my abode during my whilst I am eating...

"I hope you'll call my colleagues and *I* at Quinn Emanuel."

Huh. I guess I have better grammar than a genius, rich, perfect brief-writing law professer who is friends with everyone that matters.

Anyone else feel like the email fell somewhere between "breathless college student" and "vapid marketing pamphlet"?

Holy Shit - the before and after pictures remind me of the time I watched Senator Palpatine transform into Darth Sidious right before my eyes. The dark side of the force is strong with this bitch . . .

I took a class with Estrich. I'm absolutely 100% certain Estrich intentionally "forgot" to bcc the recipients. Anyone else who took a class with her (or read any of her books, or spent 5 minutes with her) knows what I'm talking about....

I really hate the new Vault banners (is that the right technical term?) that pop up all over the place on this site. Guess ATL has to pay the bills somehow, but they're obnoxious and tasteless.

Even the "after" picture on this post is totally flattering to SE, and does not begin to capture her ugliness.

It's not mysogonistic to say that she's a pretty disgusting person ... this is why people don't like lawyers. Pure self-promotion.

If these high-powered people were truly her friends she wouldn't have to give them SO MUCH background about herself. She's a hero in her own mind!

3:35, I'm an ardent feminist and usually one of the first to call out ATL commenters for their considerable misogyny. Pointing out what a self-aggrandizing narcissist this woman is is not sexist. Just because she's a woman doesn't mean we can't criticize her. I'd think she was just as much of a social reject if she were male.

avatar
30 Posted by 4:58 | Permalink Thursday, January 17, 2008 5:19 PM

3:35 (presumably that was directed at me), at the time you posted your comment there weren't as many sexist remarks as there are now, so I do think you were jumping the gun slightly ("bitch" was uncalled for, but comparatively mild for this site) -- and I didn't say posting her picture was acceptable (everyone knows how Lat loves to play up gender -- this tendency in most of my gay male friends constantly irritates me, by the way, but I digress...). I just said that pointing out what an ass she is isn't misogynist. Because it isn't.

Must be a slow day for Lat. There is no sex scandal here, no judge abusing his power, no frivolous lawsuit, no salary or bonus news, and no criminal arrests or convictions. This is a just a stupid email sent out by one person to a bunch of other people.

Why is this even news? Who cares.

"I suppose wishing intense business litigation on friends may not be a fond hope, but if you face issues in the future, civil or criminal, where you could use a powerful team on your side, I hope you'll call my colleagues and I at Quinn Emanuel."

I like the grammatical error in the highlight sentence of the email. It should read "colleagues and me". And she is a litigator? I though pedantry is a prerequisite. Probably not great for soliciting business...

Okay, I get it. Any criticism, no matter how well deserved, of a woman = sexist. Gee, and I thought it was only my wife who could do no wrong.
