For a society that has embraced litigation and the digital age, there will soon be a new website to love, SueEasy.com. It’s like Match.com for lawyers and litigants.
The site promises to revolutionize legal service. There are three easy steps:
1. Register your case.
2. View attorney responses.
3. Choose an attorney.
4. Instant legal bliss.
We are not making step four up. “Instant legal bliss” sounds pretty sweet to us. These guys know how to market their stuff.
Tort reform advocates are not fans of the idea. From UPI:
Darren McKinney, spokesman for the American Tort Reform Association, said the site is the “latest distillation” of an attitude promoted by trial lawyers.“It’s an attitude that runs against personal responsibility and seems to promote the notion that whatever negative happens in your life somebody else can be blamed and thus sued,” McKinney told Legal Newsline.
There are some interesting class action suits up on the site now. They include Hot Dog and Bun Mismatch filed by oscarmayer and Circumcised without Anybody’s Consent filed by Frank OHara on behalf of one million infant boys.
Oscarmayer’s complaint: “Currently buns are sold in packages of 10 but hotdogs come in packages of 8.” While certainly annoying, does it really warrant a lawsuit?

You need to eat 40 hotdogs for the numbers to match! Outrageous.
Aside from that slam dunk case, I do have a problem with class actions going "to the highest bidder." I vaguely recall that paying for clients is unethical. Or maybe the problem I have is sharing fees with non-lawyers. There's something sketchy here...
My biggest problem, however, is that the WSJ covered this in Oct. and ATL gets it 6 months later. c'mon!

i'm going to post a false advertising complaint against "www.sueeasy.com" for promising "instant legal bliss" while being aware that such a thing does not exist.
The circumcised CA sounds like a good one to me: it's a barbaric practice and those who inflict it on minor males should be treated no differently than those who this FGM is a valid cultural facet.
I think this is fantastic. All it does is connect customers with suppliers, which is always a good thing.
If you attack this website, then you are attacking the legal profession as a whole. In other words, if you don't want lawyers to practice then ban us.
The hotdog - bun mismatch is actually a feature. That way you can have macaroni with hotdog pieces after the cookout.

I wonder if the hotdog and bun case will get thrown out when defendants point out that it's actually hot dogs that come in packages of 10 and buns that come in 8-packs.
If you buy the right buns then you will never have that problem. May I suggest Martins - soft and tasty as can be, and they come 8 to a pack.

To a certain extent, companies such as Legal Match and - to a lesser degree - upstarts like LegalFish or FindLaw's new Legal Connection already offer this type of system. A potential litigant submits a case. Lawyers review it and offer their thoughts. The client then selects the lawyer he or she likes best. This is hardly revolutionary. That it may cater more to class actions is, perhaps, noteworthy.
SueEasy is, in the end, merely another method of legal advertising. It is the company's hope - ostensibly - that lawyers will be inclined to shell out big money in the hopes of catching a big case. This market, however, is already incredibly saturated. But the legal matching services not only compete against one another... they also compete against other paid search results sponsored directly by the big plaintiff side firms in any given region. SueEasy = some investors who think they can make money by convincing a few plaintiff side lawyers with deep pockets that this is something new, different, and lucrative.
Is it really necessary to point out that of all the cases on the site Kash chose the two that discuss wieners? I didn't think so.
