Associate Life Survey: Memorial Day Workin'?

funny-pictures-hard-working-cat.jpgBack in January and February, we asked you whether you worked on Christmas or New Year's, or Martin Luther King's Birthday, and we learned that about a quarter of you worked on Christmas, almost a third of you worked over New Year's, and more than half of you worked on Martin Luther King's Birthday.

In today's ATL / Lateral Link survey, we continue our exploration of the holidays. Specifically, did you work over Memorial Day Weekend?

Does leaving comments on your blog constitute "work"? If so, a lot of people who spent the weekend beating up on a young lawyer (Phil Telfeyan) "worked" over the weekend.

Surprised by the responses so far (56 percent yes).

My office was deserted last Monday.

11:28, probably more likely for people who did work to respond.

Well the question asked if you worked over the weekend, not just on Memorial Day.

I answered yes, because I did several hours of work on Saturday afternoon from home when it was cold and crappy here. I did take Memorial Day off, though.

Houston should never be lumped in with small town Austin and snootyville Dallas. There is a reason the major players in Texas are HQ'd in Houston.

I went into the office for 3 hours on Memorial Day, banged out a few hours of work, and still had time to hit a bar before the baseball game. (office is actually between home and ballpark anyways) The survey asked whether I worked at all over the weekend so I had to answer yes. Not quite a tough weekend of work though.

Everyone at Cravath worked over the weekend. But that is nothing new for Cravath. Associates at Cravath are just made up of stronger stuff than the rest of the drooling masses.

You you guys working on memorial Day because a senior told you to, or to foster a hard working reputation?

12:40 - Sadly, the latter. BS like that makes a difference in some parts.

I didn't work Memorial Day, nor any "federal holiday," to include MLK, Veteran's and Columbus. But then again, I work for the Feds.

I'm surprised so many people didn't put in any hours. Where do you people work such that you can take 3 whole days off?

Lat, you have to update your drop down menus to include us new 2008 grads! I worked hard for this $150K piece of parchment...

2:50, you haven't even taken the bar yet. You're not working at a firm. No one cares about you.

8:55: Not true. My mom says I'm special.
