"The GOP nominee-in-waiting will move to immediately change the campaign conversation from Barack Obama’s football stadium acceptance speech Thursday to the new Republican ticket, to be revealed at a noontime Friday rally in a Dayton, Ohio, basketball arena."

What part of "noontime Friday" can be confused with "today?" LEARN TO READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

The best part about Biden is the contrast of his hair and teeth and skin tone. In certain lights, he looks darker than Barack.

Barama and BinBiden -- perfect together.

Wow, death penalty is too good for that dude. I mean the child-killer in item 4, not Joe Biden (for whom a light spanking would do).

10 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, August 28, 2008 9:52 AM

I think the child-killer should have to fight Judge Halverson in the Thunderdome as part of his punishment.

10- Does she get to drive the Mart Kart of Doom? And also, do you think that she had a smaller one that disappeared years ago into her cavernous lady bits?

12: I dunno, but we should send out exploratory spelunkers to be sure.

avatar
14 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, August 28, 2008 10:06 AM

I can't believe the thing about Citibank!! Is that a joke? Why isn't it getting bigger headlines?

avatar
15 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, August 28, 2008 10:09 AM

I nominate Cadwalader to do the Halverson spelunking.

16 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, August 28, 2008 10:12 AM

14: can you explain what they did? Am I tired and incorrectly reading this? They took positive balances (say, $500 in the account) and STOLE them? As in took them for themselves?

avatar
17 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, August 28, 2008 10:15 AM

I heard that one time these dudes were spelunking the cavernous body of Hon. Halverson, when a bunch of half-digested twinkies became dislodged, crashed down, and trapped them. The twinkies were gross, so the dudes had to eat each other to survive.

Murder or not murder?

18 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, August 28, 2008 10:26 AM

Murder to not fully digest twinkies. What a waste of yum yum gimmee some goodness.

Biden is beholden to the hair-plug lobby. Do we realy want this influence in the White House?

biden...asbestos firm...snoooooooooze.

avatar
21 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, August 28, 2008 10:39 AM

Yep, sounds like Citibank stole that money. I also agree that this should be headline news - and have no idea how this could be "setttled" without sigificant jailtime for a lot of the people involved.

Heck, maybe that's what they do in California - "punish" the intentional theft of millions of dollars by politely requesting the money back. Maybe I'm in the wrong business.

22 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, August 28, 2008 10:39 AM

16: any time there was a positive balance in the account (e.g., a customer paid off the balance but sent a bit extra by mistake) they just wiped the account balance to zero and kept the cash instead of refunding it.

Barack HUSSEIN Obama. Enough said.

avatar
24 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, August 28, 2008 10:53 AM

What is wrong with this picture?

A law firm that lobbies Joe Biden, and in fact obtained favorable legislation from him as requested:

1. All of a sudden then becomes a venture capital firm by loaning Joe Biden’s brother and son $2 million dollars to start an investment bank;

2. Hires Joe Biden’s son’s law firm to assist it with its asbestos litigation cases.

Yea, that sounds like the fresh new politics of hope and change alright. Or, as my mentor was fond of saying, “If you lay down with dogs, you are going to get flees.”

Oh, wait, this is not that different from how Obama did business in Chicago in 2005 is it?

avatar
25 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, August 28, 2008 10:59 AM

22: that is incredibly disgraceful. This should be the biggest story since the Hindenburg collapse. Oh, the humanity!

"A spokesman for Brown's office, Dana Simas, said the poor and the dead tend to be less financially organized, which accounts for their increased exposure to Citibank's credit sweeps."

This is easily the quote of the day.

Okay, you caught me! I guess I'll just put the $14 million back in the jar and slowly walk away. Can't win 'em all, right? You still want to get a beer after work?

Don't tell me that McCain didn't cut some questionable deals with the prison guards for an extra handful of rice back in 'Nam. Let's play fair. Further, fleas may actually have been present.

30 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, August 28, 2008 1:33 PM

Dear 29:

Don't know if McCain cut a Cong-deal for food, I do know he was offered a deal to home when his father took over the command of the Pacific fleet and he elected to stay with his comrades for what turned out to be 3 more years of beatings and hanging from a beam by his wrists. So I doubt he sold out for a bowl of rice.

I am sure there were fleas (and rats) involved.

Watch Night Line tonight.

Shown will be the (never broadcast) Ted kopple interview with the then state senator Obama, who had just given the 2004 Dem convention keynote address, and who admitted the need to "stay the course" in Iraq, and stated that nominee John Kerry's approach to Iraq would be no different than George Bush.
