seriously, who sues his ex-wife for something like that? even if some sort of duty has been codified in n.y. state law? it's the kind of lawsuit that's tailor-made for the post and drudge

isn't the father protected by the doctor patient confidentiality? and why would the lover have a duty, unless if he was sleeping with the guy??

sounds like this guy is doing this to use as leverage for when the divorce settlement time comes around.

*Does* Georgia have a Son of Sam law? Is there a payoff-to-victims provision?

4, 5. I think the this lawsuit will get tossed out. Everyone, including judges, know all Kirkland lawyers already have herpes.

Re the Kirkland partner, the relevant cause of action under New York law is intentional infliction of genital distress. Also re the Kirklan partner, can his secretary now sue his wife et al. as well?

The herpes thing needs its own post, with Fred Tanne as LOFTD.

If I could grow a mustache as awesome as the "Merchant of Death"'s, I wouldn't be posting here right now. I'd already be balls deep into your wife.

6: The father was the doctor for both of them. While he has a duty of confidentiality to the wife, he has a duty to the husband to tell him he has likely been exposed or will be exposed to the virus. If the father really did know she had the virus, he should have realized the conflict of interest and told his son-in-law he would no longer be his primary care physician, and that he won't say why.

Stevens is absolutely corrupt...anyone who would willingly stay in Alaska has got to be "on the take" from somewhere. He'll probably get a slap on the wrist, no court seems to take a stand in "celebrity justice." Nowadays it seems that anyone famous makes a mockery of the court, you know OJ is going to get off in his most recent case (or in the very least he'll get special treatment in jury selection since NO ONE exists who doesn't already know he's a murderer) and Larry Birkhead will probably be allowed to continue on Anna Nicole Smith's silly and ultimately futile Marshall estate claim. A stand needs to be taken, someone needs to throw Ted Stevens and OJ in the slammer (perhaps together and write a sitcom about it) as an example, one in which Americans can take pride.
