Wow... Bush and McCain weren't able to rally GOP support any better than 91-108?

On the flip side, if it fails, they'll be able to hang it around the neck of the dems.

Hopefully for all of us it'll work.

It wasn't a duplicated post. The first said "Mana" instead of "Manna." Didn't catch if there were any other differences.

9: the problem is the software, not the person clicking the button. So no, no irony.

Maybe Lat ought to spend some $$ upgrading the system instead of hiring people so he can feel like big boss.

This is a bipartisan messup of epic proportions. I am dismayed that both "Maverick" McCaine and "Change" Obama both voted for this classic boondoggle. This is taking even more taxpayers' money and throwing to the same folks who got us into this mess. There were plenty of alternative approaches, but no, it had to be this one, and now. Another epic abdication of duty by Congress.

of course, this does nothing to solve the underlying systemic problem of having the government dictate business principles (i.e. mortgages) that should naturally be played out in the marketplace. The problem with this crisis is not necessarily the "greed" of Wall Street, but the "greed" of every day Americans that were living outside of their means.

It is a noble goal to make sure that every American has a home - but a realistic one? not so much.

so last week the republicans didn't like this bill because it was putting too much money and power in the hands of a few. it stroked them the wrong way philosophically and would cost tax payers too much money.

this week the bill cost more because of the pork and tax breaks added to sweeten the deal, and now its A-OKAY? Awesome.

-disappointed republican.

Wow Elie, you are really pathetic. You make typos on a post with fewer than 20 words and the most substantive post you come up with all day is about a 7 year old kid going ape-shit.

Citi, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo are about to get into a huge legal battle and you are sitting on your ass twittling your thumbs. I know it's Friday, but come on! Even your sister site, Dealbreaker, has a post about this AND a link to the contract at issue and they aren't even a legal blog!
