Exams! Results! Northeast Corridor!
New Jersey released results for the July 2008 bar exam. A tipster tells us that Massachusetts has done the same.
Congratulations to all who have earned the right to practice in this growing and lucrative depressingly anxious profession.
For those who missed the cut, just remember that it took JFK Jr. 3 tries before he passed the bar. And he was a pretty smart guy.

bad pilot though
Does Massachusetts notify everyone by mail before the results are posted online?
sNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOZE
smart enough to fly his plane in a storm when he wasn't instrument-rated?
*slowly becoming drunk*
what's better for 1L summer: a non-profit job, gov't, or a judicial internship?

Yep. The results aren't posted online, but the exam takers have been notified by mail. No clue what the pass rate is this time around. Seemed like Virginia and New Jersey were pretty high this year.
"For those who missed the cut, just remember that it took JFK Jr. 3 tries before he passed the bar."
Yeah, but he nailed the Atlantic Ocean on the first try.
Um, JFK Jr. was a pretty smart guy? Handsome - yes. Well-connected - yes. "Pretty smart" so as to dull the sting of not passing - no.
Definitely judicial internship.
Only a Trig Palin could flunk the Passachusetts bar.
sNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOZE
Did NY ever get around to releasing bar results? I've been distracted for the past week.
does this nervous 1L guy comment on every single posting to this blog?
I can't imagine what sort of uptight loser gets this stressed out about his future job prospects before he even finishes his first semester of law school!
I think he is actually referring to the Kennedy who is alive and is head of Riverkeepers and teaches at Pace (as the one who took 3 times to pass the bar). I believe he is an RFK, i.e. bobby kennedy jr, the son of also-shot RFK the first (Attorney general and presidential hopeful). NOT JFK jr, who crashed into the ocean.
14, are you the nervous 1L guy?
actually it was JFK who failed 3 times
Not really "northeast corridor" but Ohio bar results came out last Friday.
Does anyone know when Mass will post the results online?
Hey it took Vincent LaGuardia Gambini six times!
Hey it took Vincent LaGuardia Gambini six times!
It took Vincent Laguardia Gambini 6 times to pass the bar after graduating from Brooklyn Law and he won his first jury trial!
Keep your chins up everyone
JFK Sr. was smarter post-headshot than JFK Jr. ever was.
15,
You fail reading comp. Elie refers to a Kennedy who "was" a pretty smart guy. Unless he is suggesting that RFK, Jr. was once smart but now is stupid, he probably means the late JFK, Jr.
i'm nervous that everyone on ATL hates me

According to BarBri, NY results out as early as Wednesday, Nov. 12.
22 - you're a d'bag.
Mass. results are out- everyone I have spoken to seems to have passed.
How do you know that JFK Jr. was smart? Because he attended Harvard? Is that really an imprimatur of smart?
How do you know that JFK Jr. was smart? Because his father attended Harvard? Is that really an imprimatur of smart?
South Carolina released their results Friday
Are the results in from American Samoa yet? I thought they would be out by now.
Does Mass. need more lawyers? Can they even support more lawyers? I'm not being facetious here; it just seems like an amazingly over-lawyered state at all levels.
Do any NJ takers who are also waiting for NY know how we can find out our MBE scores?
Terrible use of the strike through Mystal.
34-- They should come in the mail.
Any word on the Nixon situation in Philly?
Smart guys in my high school used to fly planes into the ocean all the time. It was no big deal.
Joke to make everyone hate you:
Why didn't superman save jfk jr's plane from crashing?
wait for it... wait for it...
because superman was in a wheelchair.
thanks folks, i'll be here all week. be sure to tip your waitresses.
Here's a (Massachusetts) story about how neurotic we lawyers are....
On Saturday I was so sure I failed that I got the envelope out of my mailbox, decided its bad news would ruin my appetite, made dinner, cracked open a beer, then another, watched a little trashy tv, and only then would I open it. So much for ripping it open the moment you get it.
Fortunately, it was good news after all.
Elie--how about an open thread on MPRE this weekend
I took the NY bar when JFK Jr was taking it for the 3rd time (yeah, I'm old). I'l never forget my mother telling me to wear nice clothes since there were going to be news cameras there.
22 - It was the Brooklyn Academy of Law, that is totally different than Brooklyn Law.
What about Nixon, 37?
Ok, don't be a dbag and use imprimatur on a casual blogging site. If you find it necessary to flex the 730 SAT verbal score, please do it on your own time (ie: annoy your parents' friends at cocktail parties).
To be clear -- JFK did not take the NJ bar exam three times. He took NY three times. In order to fail the NJ bar exam three times, you would have to be in a coma.
For those who failed, don't worry. Teddy Kennedy and Hillary also failed the exam. For those of you who passed. Congratulations, and welcome to one of the world's most despised professions.
Passed the CA bar November 07'....wish I hadn't.
Welcome.
22 here:
27 clearly failed the Bar and is a cry baby (or could possibly be 21 and has a slightly quicker connection than I do and thinks I ripped him off)
As for 43:
By the Transitive Property of TTT, because Brooklyn Law = TTT and Brooklyn Academy of Law (if this even exists) = TTT, then Brooklyn Law equally as TTT as BAofL and therefore they are essentially the same thing.
NY to 190!
- 22
Can someone please get 49 a ratings chart.
That would be 740 Verbal, thank you very much. Didn't matter, I defined mediocrity at a TTT school.
TTT? What is that? I passed NJ.
740 verbal...ha! I stand corrected.
If I were a hiring partner (I'm a 2nd year associate) I would not hire any clerks from T10 law schools for the next two years just to make sure that I did not hire Nervous T-10 1L (in case he really is a 2L).
I highly recommend any hiring partners that read my comment do the same.
what are the odds of passing ny if you passed new jersey?
14, 54: You know it's a joke, right?
55:
12%. You're fucked.
Warm Regards.
57: you're an ass.
What the hell does this 2nd sentence mean? This is from the NJ Bar Exam site:
Listed below are the results from the July 2008 New Jersey Bar Examination. ****Of the 3141 candidates who sat for this examination, results have been mailed to candidates.**** Of the 3041 applicants, 2514 (82.6%) passed.
Also, is 82.6 pretty high or is that typical for NJ?
59:
Only 3041 of the 3141 results are available. The missing 100 scores are due to people taking the test out of state and never transferring in their MBE score.
" For those who missed the cut, just remember that it took JFK Jr. 3 tries before he passed the bar. And he was a pretty smart guy."
Truth be told he was as dumb as a box of rocks. The manner in which he killed himself and a couple of others - by flying in what was called marginal visibility but in reality required required instrument competence (dusk and haze over water erased the horizon and flying visually he had no reference points - whether he was going up, down or sideways. He happens. You're warned against it from the first hour of flight training. He didn't get it. He was stupid, and while his own death had certain Darwinian implications those of this passengers didn't.
What part of Martha's Vineyard do the Kennedy's miss most?
Martha's Vineyard.
[Dee dum....CHAAAAA]
I failed.
passed Jersey!
When do we find out our MBE scores so I can stop sweating NY?
For anyone interested, MA results are here:
http://www.mass.gov/bbe/results.htm
2, 5, 8, 61: RUDE!!!!!!!!!
29: He went to Brown
46: LMAO regarding the coma
50: LOL
When will ATL comment about MD bar results??? Where's the love? Most of MD barred attorneys work in our nation's capital the hub of this great nation!
NEW YORK!!!! Why isn't there a thread about when the exam results are going to be released.
NE Corridor is fine so long as it's not NJ. TTT crap.
