@17: Larry's problem is that there is no feedback loop between his brain and his mouth. Whatever he thinks pops right out. My favorite was when he was at the World Bank and he suggested that finding a way to export air pollution to third world (or developing, for the PC folks) countries would be good for all. He is right, but some things you just don't say out loud. He is smart as hell, so he has done well despite this, but Treasury Secy is right out. The new administration would spend all its time apologizing for his comments. It would be funny though to get candid thoughts about what is going on.
