Reader Poll: How Many People Actually Have Their Bar Results

Lake Placid.JPGIn case you haven’t been following along, it appears that the NY Board of Law Examiners website is unavailable or unstable. It’s preventing exam takers from accessing their scores.

But how many? Please answer the poll below so we can see how many people are waiting for an oxygen mask to drop down from the ceiling.

Try to remain patient people, I’m sure that NY BOLE had no idea so many people would be visiting their website today.

I got my result at the new site: https://www.nybarresults.org/resultslu/results.asp

That should work for everybody; it's up and fast. I passed at every part except for the "remembering to send my MPRE to the bar examiners" portion of the test. Thankfully, I did thot today...

For those having trouble getting on the site download apple safari (it's free and works for windows) then try going to the site again it worked for me (and some other people I know) the first time i tried it after struggling all morning and afternoon with firefox and explorer.

I got my result through my blackberry. It's easy when you switch the capital "B" on your BOLE ID to a lower-case "b."

Good luck to all of you still waiting to get your results.

(Also, I passed.)

This poll is flawed. Where is: "I passed. Not like it matters in this economy." That is the only one for me.

The website is working now - they put a patch up. The main BOLE page should directly take you to this page: https://www.nybarresults.org/resultslu/results.asp

Good luck!

lern2internet NY BOLE.

thank GOD i passed.

laughing at all the suckers working in NY who took a back-up Bar exam (eg., NJ, Conn., etc.). 50% more Bar exam = 100% more CLE.

avatar
14 Posted by guest | Permalink Friday, November 14, 2008 2:16 PM

It worked for me. You just have to download safari, write a b instead of B, stand on one leg, lift your right arm, close one eye, breath twice then hold you breath, says your id out loud, press enter with you right index and wait for the result.
try it, it works.

lol @ 16, what's your point?
Yao Ming is Asian and tall, so by your amazing logic that means Asians cannot be short.

Historically, the pass rate for US-educated first-time white takers has been around 85%, while that of blacks has been around 55%. We'll see if this year is any different.

Um, can we see results without voting? I happen to still be waiting but I'd like to know.

Also, isn't this a fairly flawed poll as people who vote will be going from "don't know" to "pass/fail" eventually?

I have a question: I heard that people who looked up their results early this morning saw their name, birthdate, then either PASS or FAIL. But, now, I just finally got into the website (via the new link you guys provided), and it says my name, birthdate, and then just a paragraph congratulating me on passing. It doesn't have a status of PASS. Should I be concerned that due to a technical glitch, the NY BOLE just cut and pasted that paragraph about passing beneath everyone's name and birthday? Or would you guys think this is genuine? i am just still in shock. Please tell me your thoughts.

27/28: BOLE is now sending you to a new page; I think they're now using last year's exam-result-releasing system (b/c obviously this year's one blows chunks). Last year's system doesn't give you the separate "PASS" line; instead, it just gives you the congratulations message. So, don't worry about it: it's not a glitch, and you still passed.

What's your point? Do you want a cookie? Have you been under a rock? We held an election. A non-white person won. Affirmative action is dead.

The fact that you passed means that you can't fall back on any excuse that you had to overcome something. If you want to overcome adverse circumstances, go break your leg and try to walk for a few months. No one cares about your race or your socioeconomic status.

Glad you passed. But seriously, get over yourself.

To all those that passed congratualations, but we regret to inform you that your services will no longer be needed as a) management has decided to eliminate your role as a part of reduction in force and b) your role has now been outsourced to someone who can do it just as well for 2 cents per hour.

To all those still looking for a job, you wasted thousands of dollars on law school and months of your life studying for a profession that won't hire you anyhow.

16 was most likely given a "special" bar examination -- one that tested his/her ability to be shiftless at work without being detected; and if detected, how to sue his/her employer racial discrimination in the workplace.

avatar
65 Posted by guest | Permalink Friday, November 14, 2008 7:47 PM

And BTW, 16's implication is that whoever recognizes the fact that blacks and other minorities pass at lower rates than whites is a racist. Not so! We just merely look at the numbers. Someone needs to inform black law school grads that finishing law school doesn't give them a license to be their usual shiftless selves. It's no wonder blacks don't excel after law school.

66 Posted by guest | Permalink Friday, November 14, 2008 8:07 PM

I am shocked and appalled by the racist comments out there. If you feel the need to spew such racist comments in anonymity, I sure hope that you can reconcile that this country is changing and you need to wake up and realize that a majority of YOUR future work will involve a diverse group of people. Law is supposed to be a legal profession. I sure hope you can pass the MPRE with that kind of attitude. Oh yea, and I passed the exam and no I am not some affirmative action "charity" case so eff off.

who took the July 2007 examination by 2.8%."
