That Jones Day piece is pretty funny, actually. Of course, it'd never be an original ATL post.

I still cannot understand how this site beats out Bob Loblaw's Law Blog.

we need to vote against atl so that they get less sponsors, less money, and are forced to fire elie. then we will have lat and a good blog back

Volokh is already kicking the shit out of MysTTal. While I like volokh, I went with WSJLB.

ATL is both festering and in decline. Congrats, Elie!

A Thousand Words (2009) Eddie Murphy learns he can say only 1,000 more words before he dies.

Can you even begin to imagine how great this would be if it happened to Elie? How about 1,000 typos?

Eh I bitch and whine, but at end end of the day i visit ATL about as often under Elie as I did under Lat.

10 - Elie is not being fired, so your campaign is in vain.

13- Agreed. ATL is an excellent resource and deserves your vote.

You guys all loved Elie when he was an ATL Idol contestant and even once he won. It wasn't until he finally posted a photo that everyone started piling it on. What happened?

It's not about Elie. Well, not directly. I stopped reading this blog because I knew I could get the same news elsewhere, and while the comments on here used to be intelligent, 60% of them are now devoted to denigrating Elie's weight, race, and/or sexual orientation;another 20% are insulting the remaining 10% that were actually discussing the topic, and the remaining 10% are assholes saying "FIRST."

There's also been a remarkable decline in the knowledge base on here; it's obvious from the comments that bulk of people commenting on here are either law students or junior associates, which means it's no longer a useful resource. Or, to get down in the mud and put it in terms the current ATL clientele can understand, if I want to know how ignorant, bitch-ass white boys with delusions of grandeur feel about any given issue, I can visit ATL, or I can poll the senior class at Chaminade, and it's simpler to poll Chaminade. I don't know why your more thoughtful posters have bailed, ATL, but YOU need to think about it; things on here have sunk so low that you either need to start moderating or stop accepting comments, because at this point almost everything below the jump is a cesspool.

I should reapportion these percentages to account for the grammar and spelling trolls, who apparently only live to post smarmy, shit-eating corrections (that are frequently incorrect themselves) to other people's posts and are more prevalent on this site than on any other I've ever seen. There are too many of them, and they don't serve a useful purpose. They're shitty lawyers because they apparently don't understand that form and substance are equally important, and they're shitty human beings because what other kind of person patrols message boards looking for opportunities to zing people on grammar?!
