* Speaking of commenters, seriously, stop the cyber-bullying. Keep your eyes trained on the big guy. I can take it. Look, I’m even talkingg aboot myself, in, the thrith person.!? [On Point]
* A good friend of mine said: “Why don’t associates vote for a pay cut like these Korean workers?” Then he went back to burying the final land mines in the demilitarized zone between his office and those of junior associates. [WSJ]
* It’s funny how the party out of power doesn’t want the party in power to act like they did when they were the party in power. ‘Twas always thus. [Law Dork 2.0]
* If Alex Rodriguez can’t help looking shady, what hope do lawyers have? [What About Clients?]
* Remember when 3Ls only had to worry about the bar exam? [Courtoons]
* You know what’s going to suck? The first time a discovery request asks for all the “tweets” sent by a company. Don’t worry future first years (in India), there will always be documents to review. [Popsquire]

Thanks for the shout-out The Devil's Advocate!
Elie, I'm back from my vacation, and I'm watching you like a hawk. If I catch you so much confusing 'it's' for 'its,' I'm coming for you.
How quickly people have forgotten Roger Lou...RIP Roger Lou wherever you are.
The Management Committe appreciates the shout-out. We also appreciate learning that so many more associates have spare time to create online personas and post repeatedly. More layoffs tomorrow!!!
Just a note on the cyber-bullying front. This is the same site that took an absolute hatchet to a certain partner that was riding on a train. This spawned some pretty vicious commentary that the folks at ATL appeared to revel in.
On the nervousness front. I think there is a clear difference with someone that clearly engages in and loves the attention they get on a site and even goes so far as to intentionally develop a persona that is repeated and recognizable. It is kind of like when Monica Lewinski held a press conference to ask for her privacy.
That said. People don't need to make their attacks personal and vindictive.
The devil's advocate doesnt mention me? I stole Mr. Rodgers shoe, I had sex at a school dance, I mocked mexicans at a party. oh, I see, Mexican author, huh?
6: i would just like to have an anonymous online persona where i can exaggerate the nervousness of my classmates and myself. i didn't sign up to be outted. if i knew i would be outted i would've never created 'nervous T-10 1L'.
anyway, thanks to the supporters. sorry if i offend the haters, i mean no harm.

Are the Republicans in the Senate bogarting all of America's good weed? Seriously, I can't find shit strong enough to make me say crazy things like "Obama, we expect you to nominate Judge Conrad to the Circuits."
"Look, I'm even talkingg aboot myself, in, the thrith person.!?"
Are you serious?
Hands down, the best commenter of the year thus far is "commenter 150" from the Pillsburry Train Wreck
T-10 1 L -
6 here. Fair enough. I think anonymity is a part of the deal. I agree that you should keep yours.
nervous T-10 1L is a massive tool.
Agree with 11 all the way. 10 is a bumblefuck.
Hey I'd love for a chance to compete in the Snark Olympics and all, but I've been waiting three days for my confirmation email.
Is there some sort of audition I have to pass first?
"gwaa... gwaa..."
15-- All other events are pending.
You're a winner.

I can't believe he put Summerstory on the list of best commenters. That one sucks so bad, I've been hard pressed to care enough to comment on how bad he sucks.
nervous- no one is going to out you. 1. michigan law students (if that is even true) are too busy gunning to snoop on other peoples computers. 2. none of these tools actually work in biglaw; and if they do, emailing a "hiring director" about an anonymous online commentator would probably get the associate laughed out of a job...
Eagles may soar high, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
Nervous T10 1L - I think that your classmates would probably appreciate it if you would just ditch your "anonymous online persona" (which, of course, is not truly anonymous because you were foolish enough to publish some identifiers - law school, class, job prospects). It's obvious that you've aggravated people to the point that they are making threats -- is it really worth it?
Elie - Yayyy!
Do I win a screenname?
Good to know the young people still appreciate the sleek, dazeling veneer of the 1980's.
19 - One would hope that law firm hiring management pay no attention to anonymous comments on blogs. However, click through the On Point article to the linked article by Margolis entitled "Slimed Online". (Highlighted box under On Point story)
In that story, a target of online bullying believes she had law firm offers pulled because of what was said about her on an online blog. After much ado including now a pending lawsuit against the blog owners, one of the (now former) blog owners was named in the suit for having participated in the Online Sliming. He was dismissed from the suit, but had his permanent offer pulled as a result of the association. Other online bullies in the fiasco are finding non-judgment related consequences in their legal careers.
So, it seems that the target and the host/participant felt the results of hiring personnel paying attention to anonymous comments made on blogs.
Captain Canuck has made it big!
Canada is here to stay. Don't worry, we'll sweep up the mess that the United States has left
-Bay Street is awesome!
10: Seriously, what's wrong with you? Next time you should ask Elie to spell out the word J-O-K-E before he makes one. For your own sake, please go have a drink tonight.
Elie: Even though I can't stand Nervous T-10 1L, you were right today in trying to keep the peace and preventing that dumb kid from being outed.
ATL/Elie/Lat: Great fucking job keeping up with the layoff news.
i'm beginning to appreciate your humor, elie.
Nervous T10 1L should not be outed. It would ruin the spirit of this site (and probably his career).
I, for one, like Nervous. He doesn't say anything horrible or mean, and he is generally funny.
Whomever outs Nervous should be outed. 10 threads all about the person who outed him. Opposition research style.
TIme magazine makes me Person of the Year but I can't even get an honorable mention as ATL commenter??
YES WE CAN!!!
Your online personalities suck. Just because you have fancy degrees and witty avatars doesn't make your comments better than mine.
ParaLegal.
SPOILER ALERT
I got my offer rescinded so I don't give a flying fuc anymore. I'm going to end the big mystery. Drumroll please . . . Nervous T-10 1L is:

Michigan takes credit for Nervous. Everyone knows that.
Bobby Jindal here with a Republican response to BHO and saying with your speech the other night, you completed a redemptive journey that took our nation from Independence Hall to Gettysburg to the lunch counter and now, finally, the Oval Office. My speech, on the other hand, took the nation's attention from the Oval Office to something called "volcano monitoring." Instead of monitoring volcanoes, what Congress should be monitoring is the eruption of spending in Washington, D.C.
Fairly good article, and makes a good point, there are a ton of commenters now
For the O'Conner fans, she was on Daily Show last night. You can check it out at Hulu.com
