Why are Latham associates are so disgruntled? Is it them or is it Latham? Feels like nobody else is hates their firm so much.

Two misplaces apostrophes within 50 words of each other ("video's depicting animal cruelty," "has accused attorney's of recruiting"). Lat, maybe you should offer this one to Villanova as well.

And while we're at it, it isn't giving "fake testimony." The testimony is real, though its content is false. The recruitment was to give "false testimony," or to "testify falsely."

I have a quite funny story about my friends Partner Emeritus aka Droops I would like to share. As I mentioned earlier, Droops became involved with a young woman at Sweet Briar College during his time as an undergraduate. Well this young lady wrecked havoc upon his life and put a great deal of stress upon our friendship. Well about 9 months into their romp, the young Vixen declared to Droops while away on in London on holiday that she was indeed pregnant. The young lady, whose background was not nearly as prestigious as either mine or Droops, had no where to turn. Droops' family took the young lady in upon completion of her spring semester. His family paid for all the expenses incurred during the 9 months of the young ladies pregnancy even allowing her to live on their estate. Droops ultimately planned on marrying the young women after the birth of the child. However, when the day of delivery came it was apparent that the young Vixen had more than one rooster in the henhouse. The baby was an African-American!!!!!!! It caused quite a bit of embarrassment for Droops and his family. They couldn't show their face at the Country Club for atleast six months! Ha, good times.

Can somebody enlighten me about the following Q&A between Gibbs and Helen Thomas?

Helen Thomas: Why is the president blocking habeas corpus from prisoners at Bagram? I thought he taught constitutional law. And these prisoners have been there . . .

Robert Gibbs: You're incorrect that he taught on constitutional law.

But I thought BO did teach constitutional law at UChicago, right?

avatar
34 Posted by guest | Permalink Tuesday, April 21, 2009 10:10 AM

33 - He taught First Amendment when I was at UChicago, which a course separate and distinct from "Consitutional Law" (which is more an intro course). Before you say it, I agree that is *extremely* fine hair-splitting.

The ACLU and the rest of the so called "civil liberties" nuts need to get a clue. This is not a Republican v Democrat or Bush v Obama issue. People the world changed on 9/11 and now we all have to step it up or we'll have another terrorist attack. You can give us all your high minded ideals about American Values not allowing the government to intrude on our civil liberties. The truth is you're dealing with a bunch of people who'll do anything to kill Americans and harm our country, therefore the gloves are off. Obviously Obama has to adjust his "Change" and "Yes we can" BS because he doesn't want another terrorist attack on his watch, just like anyone else with half a brain would.
