Are we done with the "Notes From the Breadline" yet? Maybe it would be easier to take without the ridiculously inappropriate title and picture. It is hard to conjure up the same "Pursuit of Happiness" desparate struggle when, to date, the story can be summarized as: but I don't want to wrap up my current caseload...but I don't want to have to look for another job...but I don't want to pay for my own health insurance...but I want a car...but I don't want to pay back my student loans...but I don't want to leave NYC... but I don't want to deal with rejection...but lawyer layoffs are more important than other layoffs... but I don't want to make less than $200K... but I don't want to take on risk...but I don't want to learn practical lawyering...but I don't want to have to find my own clients...but I don't want to work hard...
Next year, someone has to do a Law Firm Layoff themed Peeps diorama.

Comment 5 is one of the greatest comments ever
GULC = YALE OF PART TIME SCHOOLS!!! YESSSSS! I'M SO GLAD I CHOSE GULC OVER GW!!!!
What the hell is an "outdegree"?
That's right! GULC is #1. All you haters can kiss my black ass. Beefcake!
10 - some bullshit U of M ranking method on academic influence
10 - some bullshit U of M ranking method on academic influence
for usn&wr -- use last column ; also this came from a usn&wr blog post
11: Do you like fishsticks?
What's after #5? Anyone have the rest of the rankings? Maybe I'll be able to turn a favorable ranking into a job.
Top 5% Loyola 4E
2,7,9,15 - all of you are hardcore lawyers
Bar Exam Results Announced
The Legal Intelligencer
Wednesday, April 15, 2009
The Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners has announced the results of the bar examination given on February 24 and 25, 2009. Of the 557 applicants who took the examination, 318 passed (the overall pass rate 57%).
paragraph 1 and paragraph 5 in the hardcore article are illustrated well by 15,9 and 2. meanwhile, i constantly illustrate paragraph 3. i am hardcore
Wait... what? American is 10 ranks behind Mason in the regular rankings. How are they AHEAD of Mason in the part time? Particularly when Mason's part time is virtually the same as its full time.
Is Roberts teaching classes at American?
H4rdc0r3 lawyer at Mason
#5 is the best comment in the history of commenting.
#5's comment is great, but probably not the greatest ever. Roxanna, or whatever her name is, sounds like an entitled fishstick.
19,
First, GMU is only 8 spots ahead of American, not 10. Second, all of the DC schools' evening programs are identical to the day programs, so GMU is not special in that area. Third, one of the reasons AU is probably ahead is because they have a clinic program specifically designed for evening students. When I was at GULC I unsuccessfully tried to get them to adopt a similar program.
All part-time programs suck. All of them.
19 -
Having gone to AU at night and having worked with a GMU evening student during the time, I'm not too surprised. AU's evening program is bigger, so there's a clinic for evening students, plus a much bigger selection of courses offered at night. GMU's program just seemed like it was tacked on as an extra way of making money, whereas AU's seemed like a little more thought in it. Of course, all evening programs are money makers, but my perception was that AU's was a little less so.
Plus, Ralph Nader teaches in the summer. What other law school has a former presidential candidate among their adjuncts? LOL...
Kathleen Korman Fay would get the pink sock
I am just sitting on my bed in my living room and listening to Hank's new song: Red, White, and Pinkslip Blues.

PT programs are the only ones worth anything. FT programs are full of kids with no employable skills. This is why the current legal market is so scary to them - they hung their hat on a profession they had never taken part in before coming to school and now have to accept salaries McDonald's managers laugh at.
TTTwentyseven = hardcore
Didn't US News promise to release their rankings much earlier than Late April???? Anyone want to use me for a suit?
As far as the little rankings go...
Shouldn't you adjust by class size? So Yale really is WAY better than Harvard, and Chicago is better than Columbia and Michigan?
Also, way to go Michigan...punching a bit above it's weight with academics. Nice job.
"Wow the Northeast is really cranking out top-notch lawyers" - Brian Kelly, US News Editor
GW, AU, GMU, GTTT... in the Northeast? If they can't even figure out basic geography, good luck with lining schools up in sequential order.
thank :)
i love that 30 called them the "little" rankings. there are more important things on 30's plate.
related - loved the hardcore article, but wonder why there wasn't an entire section on obsessive blackberrying, particularly when surrounded by friends and family in social situations to show the importance of your job.
"Plus, Ralph Nader teaches in the summer. What other law school has a former presidential candidate among their adjuncts?"
Widener has Joe Biden, you might of heard of him.
Where on their crappy site are the rankings?
I'll go ahead an say what most other people are thinking: part time programs are TTT and so are the schools that provide such programs.
Seriously 35 your an idiot. People like you and Roxanne that went to a T1 school have no skills - all you can do is suckle on a partners tit to get work and feel important. I would take a part-time kid from GWU, AU or Gtown over any full time kids. They have world expierence so they can acctually succeed in the buisness we call law. You biglaw kids are entitled.
#35,
I'm a part time student and guess what, I'm employed. Better than those whining snot nosed TopTT grads who don't know how to find a job and don't have any functional skills.
The link to the rankings doesn't work??
37, no functional skills? I will have you know that many of these students were likely social and/or recruiting chair for their frat/sorority. So OBVIOUSLY, they can handle any job.
new link to rankings...please?
clearly the guy who wrote hardcore article was officemates w 35.
you wearing cufflinks right now brah?
I love how 36 calls 35 and idiot while at the same time he demonstrates that he fails to understand the difference between "your" and "you're."
i love how 42, 36 and 35 all clearly fall within the hardcore article - 35 and 42 both showing up in paragraph #5 and 36 in paragraph #1
an article about this behavior is in the N-S, its commented on in the comments, but they can't help themselves.
