That NY Times link was posted in the comments 2 days ago (you know, when the Times published it). Fail.
assuming arguendo that I am first, does that make me the best, a fortiori?
Kilpatrick Stockton just sent out the following press release:
"In light of recent events, we now only have to layoff 23 lawyers, instead of the 24 previously announced."

This kid wanted to get into Harvard and Yale but he went to Pepperdine? Good god . . . he was way off base.
M. Levy did not commit suicide. I hope the DC Metro Police investigate this homicide. I have it on good authority inside Jessup Correctional that Avon Barksdale put the hit on Mr. Levy for betraying him and siding with Marlo Stansfield when he was locked up in the joint.
Why in the world would they fire the head of their Supreme Court and Appellate practice? By all accounts he was good at his job.
If your graphic is supposed to illustrate something about Mayan prophecies, it fails because your picture is of the Aztec calendar stone. If instead, your intent was to depict a non sequitur -- then "well done."
Obama rejects trickle down economics but points to it as a consequence of what he calls illusory economics. A 25 year old getting a million dollar bonus is not illusory. Sure he was a dime a dozen, but that money was certainly real. And the tips that kid gave were great. And that steak he paid $100 for was rubbery and dry, but he was 25 and he didn't know any better. If there weren't any rich people, there wouldn't be anyone to pay the taxes for Obama's communist state. Even Russia needed to permit a limited amount of Capitalists. I so sick of this amateur we have as president. He's a joke and the NY Times can keep being enchanted. I'm ready for the cave in Montana.
LOL. Obama dissed U.Chicago. It's a TTT full of illiterate monkeys.
re: chicago - if obama had bad writers in his classes, it has to do with selection bias. who do you think signed up for his fluff classes? most u of c students were too busy learning about appellate jurisdiction to care about "my grandmother and the law" seminars and similar bs.
The NYT is hoping to be next in the bailout line. Way to kiss up. And yeah, "after the recession"? What a rare example of optimism from the Gray Lady.
5: tru dat. lol
10: obama taught conlaw
13: "His most original course, a historical and political seminar as much as a legal one, was on racism and law." http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/30/us/politics/30law.html
Obama's comment about UofC is something I have noticed for a long time: we've had education inflation in this country. 60 years ago, when you graduated from most high schools, you were better educated than you are today (at least in the three R's, can't say the same for the sciences).
Essentially, today you need a college degree to equal a high school diploma of years ago; a graduate degree to equal a college degree; and multiple graduate degrees to equal one graduate degree. Look at our own profession, when it used to be that you received a Bachelor of Laws; now we receive a Juris Doctor, and ,oh yeah, pay for about 2 years of unneeded schooling to get that J.D.
I went to an excellent high school, and then to an Ivy League university. It took over two years for the university to challenge me such that I could no longer ride on the coattails of my high school education.
I think Lat would agree with this...
