This ATL post is boring and says basically nothing.

And yet, I am an attorney at Thompson Hine, so I have no work to do (and the only work I get is fluff barely suitable for a first year).

No new clients coming in. No new work from existing clients. Staff layoffs mean that associates have essentially no secretarial support.

All salaries slashed. Announced layoffs.

And constantly with the stealth layoffs.

I watch the young associates, people from tier 1 schools near the top of their classes, and I watch them sit and wait while their careers wither on the vine. What they want is work of substance to develop their skills. The way things are now, most are begging for doc reviews and research memos, and get nothing.

The partners share no information. They say all is well. Yet they never have work to assign. And the stealth layoffs continue.

I hate this firm. My only solace is to sit here and write this while they pay me to do it. Cold comfort is better than none at all, I suppose.

Success in the legal profession is based on results. Thompson Hine partners are consistently failing to bring tangible results. I have no confidence in this firm or its leadership. Many of us will be moving lateral just as soon as we can.

THOMPSON HINE - if you ignore having clients and doing important work, then we're great!
