Lots of non-Americans are American icons. Notice that Mystal does not deny that he misspelled it, nor does he own up to belatedly correcting it. I think we all can see why Mystal is no longer employed by a law firm.

Actually, Alex Trebek is an American citizen. He became a naturalized citizen in 1998. So, he is in fact an American icon.
