If the criminal case would have allowed a rape shield protection in Nevada, it's kinda pointless to claim you were scared to subject yourself to the spotlight with this case, yet unwilling to go to the cops (a year ago, six months ago, or right now). Magnum's name barely got out at all until it was 100% clear she was lying and after the Duke guys had been dragged through the mud for months.
