Florida is Looking At Your Facebook Character and Fitness
Is your Facebook page ready for your character and fitness exam? If you are applying to the Florida state bar, you might want to update your profile. Over on True/Slant, Kash examines employers who want to use Facebook against you:
[N]ot all legal types respect Facebook privacy. The Florida Bar Examiners, the group that decides who gets to become a lawyer in Florida, is considering forcing some wannabe lawyers to be subjected to a thorough social networking investigation prior to their being knighted esquires.
Florida bar examiners will look for evidence of substance abuse in applicants with a history of those problems, and will of course check to see if you would like to overthrow the government.

Should it be illegal for employers to check job applicants’ Facebook profiles? [True/Slant]

First Weasel?
Shit.
how will they check this if you don't share your profile with people who you haven't friended??
3: rtfa.
I have recently joined facebook to keep track of the louts who are employed by the firm. I will be monitoring, from time to time, for inappropriate comments and the time stamps. After all, I am not paying for people to socialize on the firm's dime or time.
They can ask for your Facebook password, just like the City of Bozeman does:

Didn't the Obama Administration ask for such information from its job applicants as well?
Hey, guys, It's Future Elie, come back from the future after Lat fired me from ATL and I became homeless.
True/Slant used to pay me money plug the site on this blog. Those were the good old days./ Now the only money I get is from pedestrians on the streets of New York who will pay me in change for predictions of the future, and street legal asvice. But, it wasn't always that easy. Some of you may rememvber that ATL was once free of stealth True/Slant advertisements in the blog posts. Lat wanted it that way (he's a tyrant with a Napoleonic complex). Then Kash and I teamed up and convinced him that nobody would notice/care if we plugged True/Slant so long as we did it mixed in with legitimate posts. He said, "this is ATL, we don't have any legitimate posts. But go ahead, I don't care, whatever." Then he went back to drooling over a Youtube video of Mario Lopez on Dancing With the Stars.
In case anyone was wondering, after I went homeless, I was no longer able to continue my articulate black power screeds that I put minimal effort into, on True/Slant. I still feel future would have been better place were I allowed to continue my rants on that website, and reched the ears (eyes) of those in power.
5, but commenting on ATL posts during working hours is still cool, right?
-- Associate PE can't make enough rain for.
North Carolina bar results are out.
HOW IS EVERYONE THIS FINE DAY?
7 - Yawn. The schtick is terrible and needs to go away.
All you have to do is mangle your last name and disable search and no one can find you on facebook.
How DARE the state bar associations stoop to this invasion of privacy!?
And it is these same state bar associations that say nothing while the law schools and the NALP put out bogus/inflated job and salary statistics in order to induce new youthful victims to enter law school and sign up for 100K dollars or more in student loans.
Talk about the height of hypocrisy!
There is not a single bar association that has any moral authority to judge the ethics or morals of ANYBODY, given the complicity of the state bar assns in the law school industry's bait and switch scheme with the inflated job stats.
13 = L4L
im assuming California didnt have this practice in place when annointing Orly Taitz to practice....
DOUBLEPLUSUNGOOD!
what's next? The state bar associations requiring that the applicants have a video webcam placed in their houses so that state bar can monitor their morals and ethics 24/7?
Pure slime.
Don't get me started on the Florida Board of Bar Examiners. By and large these little shits are wannabe lawyers from places that shouldn't exist who possess Napoleanic complexes that would embarrass Napolean.
Good luck getting admitted unless you are a certified redneck.
Well sh**. Has anyone seen my pants?
Please don't go on with this, Leave us some dignity to remember. Spare us this last.
Can we focus on the real story here for a second? How kute is Kash in that pic?
This is no big deal. My Florida bar application asked for my autoadmit screen name and all associated aliases.
Yeah, 21. Did you get the same information for the Bar Examiners?
At least they don't want my myspace account info
Kash is hot and thin.
Anyone who does not keep their FB or other social media network private deserves this.
7, too long, didn't read. Decent premise, horribly executed.

I would have to drop like 3 green Obama E-tabs to get with Kash. She is a 5.6343834 on a good day.
All your Facebooks is belong to us.
Why not also require email addresses & passwords? What's the difference, other than Facebook includes MORE information than your email?
Moreover, why not require all snail mail received over the past 8 years to be copied and forwarded to the Florida Bar?
While I understand that a law license is not a "right," this seems egregious. But what actual privacy protection should anyone expect? You have an easy choice to simply refuse to apply to the bar. It's like getting a TS security clearance, or getting a job at the FBI. If you won't submit, you simply won't get licensed.
gawd kash is qt
Are they just browsing public profiles online or requiring access to private ones as well?
In the linked article it says that Florida wants to make sure that certified legal interns are not holding themselves out as lawyers. Does that mean they are going to judge you on what you list as your "occupation" on facebook? If you have graduated law school, have taken the bar and are awaiting results, and are employed as an associate, what do you call yourself? I just had to apply for a housing lease and listed my occupation as attorney and included salary. Is this wrong since I'm awaiting bar results? I am employed as an attorney right? confused.
usually when I get drunk women look bettter;
Kash looks bettter when she is drunk
I'm very drunk and I intend on getting still drunker before this evening's over.
#33:
How the hell are they going to find out what you put down as your occupation on your residential lease? They never will, unless you tell them. So don't worry about it.

Nope they asked that of political appointees, quite different.
I'd like to trade places with Kash's Corona bottle.
