Check out the guy on the PLC website. He's supposedly to look overworked, but he's still HOT.
2 = Lat
3 = Roxana
None of the ergonomic problems address obesity. If I get a workplace injury from being obese, would I have a cause of action against TechnoLawyer under the Massachusettes Good Samaritan Law?
Kate, I know you don't care what we think, but we're being honest here. You won't, can't get laid at law school. I know what you've heard, and it's true, the place is a slobbering mess of desperate losers playing STD bingo. But we'd be lying if we told you there still wasn't a rock bottom. Even the Mariana Trench has one. Your best bet is to save your parents' money and try to get on the next season of Dating in the Dark. In space.
can i has my new Vault rankings pleaz?
Good point 7. What's the deal with the Vault rankings anyways?
Of course the 19 year old law student is impervious to criticism. She's fat, ugly, and pale as all hell, so she's probably spent her life ignoring the criticism and disgust of others.
"Intentional torture"? Really? Is that now a claim under Illinois statutory law? 'Cause you know the common law ain't that progressive.
My boyfriend never took nude photos of me. Mostly that's because I've never had a boyfriend.
¡ay de mí!
Lat is a pussy. Why did he change the Sarah Getchell posting, remove comments, and close the comments? All because she called him hysterical? Weak move.
Wow, instant classic, 11.
12: I agree. The whole thing reeks of sexism, actually -- that we have to protect the poor defenseless girl from any sort of negative and unwanted attention. Heaven forbid she actually defend herself, or just roll with the punches. She is a LAWYER. It's time for her to butch it up if she plans to have an entire career in the field of conflict.
11- Soto,
It's nice to see you're bringing the humility and empathy to the Supreme Court that we all hoped for.

Don't let those racists tell you that the same rules apply to you as others! They're plebians!
Agree with 13: Strong work, 11.
7, that should read: "i can haz mah..." (I've spent a lot of time looking at lolcats since being laid-off in February.)
15=FAIL.
How did you miss the obvious "Not right now Cheif Justice, I'm in the zone!" joke? What is wrong with you!
Lat is fat.
Lat is gay.
It's not a tort if the nude photos are of a hot girl.
Kate, here's some more advice you don't want. If you take that attitude in law school you'll be the person everyone hates. If you're so damn smart why don't you go to Harvard? Reminds me of a kid in high school who was "too smart for school." He dropped out early so he could get a GED and go to community college after junior year. Another mediocre genius. Ever see the movie rounders? If you can't spot the easy mark within the first 5 minutes, it's YOU!
A young female lawyer is objectified. Spotlighted, used as a showdog. It's all about looks. Malicious gossip. Intrusion. Invasion of privacy. Works for the power structure. She gets chewed up by the system.
Thanks to all who spoke out. Please try to do the same in your law firm.
Shut up 21.
So the real question is-- how long will ATL allow the fake Elie schtick, which merely replaces the lowercase l in his name with a capital i ("I") but otherwise completely mimics the real Elie's profile, to hang around?
-Super Sleuth
No, I'm not going to shut up.
Seriously, 21. Shut up.
They wouldn't even let my fake PE schtick stay.
I clicked on the link to the WSJ law blog to read the story about the girl from CA going to law school.
I have to say, the WSJ law blog is much better than ATL. When I was reading the post over there, I realized just how horrible a writer Elie is.
Lat, I know this is a blog, and so who really cares about proper grammar, spelling etc, but if you are going to call Elie an Editor in Chief, please make her edit. It really is a joke.
$10 bucks says this post will be removed by moderator.
An entity in my town once paid me a large sum of money to shut up. And I did. If you've got an offer, 25, I'll hear it. Until then, I'm going to continue to speak out when I get hosed, and when I see other people getting hosed in the same manner.
If you've got something intelligent or interesting to say, then say it, 25. If not, then I think you're the one who needs to STFU.
21- You've got it all wrong. It's all about arrogance and this woman has a ton of it. The fat insults were unseemly, but the "you don't seem to actually want to be a lawyer" and "tone down the arrogance" comments were just as if not more prevalent on the other thread,
- not 25
And I hate piling on. It would be for the best if Above The Law just dropped this and deleted any comment here and any mention of her in their posts--she is just a kid.
You're still reading this wrong, though.
- 29
Talking about the woman in the Seyfarth / disqualification thread, 29. I tried to comment on that thread, but comments were shut down.
Anyway, the heft of the sparring on this site has worn me down. I'm taking a break.
She is arrogant because she is talented and not yet mature enough to handle it. We were all there once and learned from our mistakes. Bet you did not pay attention to what people tried to tell you when you were 19.,..
After reading the newspaper this morning, my thoughts of Obama have been confirmed. Obama wants to suppress the media (ironic since the media helped him get elected by inculcating "white guilt" into the weak voter's mind) as a result of the reporting of all the negative backlash and reception recorded in the townhall meetings regarding Obamacare. I thought we lived in a democracy. Why does Obama want to curb folks' first amendment rights? That's right, Obama is a facist disguised as democrat. You fools that voted for this enemy of democracy have yourselves to blame for this nation's downward spiral trajectory.
http://bigdebtsmalllaw.wordpress.com/
Wait 33, Obama is a facist? I thought he was a socialist - that's why I voted for him. This is not the kind of change I can believe in...
Fascism? Fuck me- Say what you want about the tenets of Socialism, but at least it's an ethos.
Ergonomics and chiropractry are completely spurious sciences. But for the obese, there would be no demand for these so called services.
29--you question her intelligence--
great the critical dimension is evinced.
She is not intelligent enough--wow thanks.
Harvard's acceptance is both over inclusive and under inclusive.
Significant overlap of the top 3 schools with the rest of the t20.
Nice lose though.
38-
Could you please translate all of that into English so I can respond properly? Even Elie isn't that bad.
She has no connection to Harvard and I did not bring the school up. I actually didn't bring up her intelligence, though now that you mention it, while a 3.5 from UCSD and a 174 are nice, they do not a genius make. Starting at 19 is also nice and impressive, though hardly as uncommon as she would like it to be if she wants to declare herself a prodigy. When I started law school at NYU, there was a woman who was starting there at 19 who, if memory serves, had graduated from Harvard at 16.
I do believe this girl is pretty bright. From the quotes of hers posted on the last thread, she seems to think she's Matt Damon from Good Will Hunting--it's at that point she crosses the line into arrogant. So, while I would be content to drop this, here goes:
Kate, you're a bright person who should have a great future ahead of you.
1.) You're not Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting. Hopefully you don't take this as an insult. You shouldn't. Will Hunting doesn't exist. Will Hunting never did exist. There hasn't been a teenager in the United States who is simultaneously an expert on art, high level experimental physics to the extent he embarrass MIT professors, and knows 19th century cases backwards and forward. That person doesn't exist and that person is not you.
2. Hypothetically, say you are Will Hunting. Now remember the Robin Williams "you're just a kid" speech.
-29
Sarah Getchell is far from intelligent.
27 - The WSJ law blog is very good (although it was better when Peter Lattman was still there).
If you like it better than ATL, then don't read ATL. It's a free country. Nobody is forcing you to read Elie's posts.
Bye.
I <3 Obamacare and laugh thinking about PE crying on his pillow at night
With all the good looking women in SoCal, why are the socially awkward fatties moving to Chicago? Kate, please consider returning to California, we have more than enough hefty women in Illinois already.
TIA.
Elie,
We had almost forgotten about you and your racist posts.
Please remove yourself from ATL and start your own blog.
See how you do with salary and ratings once the white people you hate and despise stop clicking on your little blog posts.
Seriously. I would like to see your rich racist little Harvard ass earn it.
Intellectual heft, more common on the left
Has fled this site, leaving me bereft.
Marin leaves me miffed, Elie is ineft.
I'll shut up when I see the EFT.
(First to say STFU gets a piece a candy . . . .)
