Florida Bar Exam Results
We trumpeted the terrible performance turned in by the state of Florida on the February bar exam. So it’s only fair that we give you sunshine staters a chance to talk about the July bar exam. The results were posted today.
Bar results are out, all three major Florida college football teams are ranked in the Top 25, it’s shaping up to be a pretty good week down there.

First to say you still don't have jobs

TTThird... damn.
I passed and I have a job. Take that, douchebags.
If you are from or want to go to Florida -- you are either old or inappropriate. Think about it.
Damn that was fast. I'll be waiting another month for results.
I have a job (6 figures) and I passed. Eat me bitches in New York!!
Still have about another 3 weeks to go for me.
It would be interesting if ATL put together a chart of all of the bars and corresponding anticipated results release dates. Of course, that would be sensible and would detract from scooping the normal dumb-ass stories about black kids who tweet and female partners who fart.
I heard Ponce de León failed (to find the Fountain of Youth).
The state of florida resembles a penis.
any idea what the avg MBE score was?
I just got my results. I'm wondering, has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like? Thanks!
I heard the scores looked abnormal in February because the bar examiners accidentally confused the statistics for average age of applicants with the statistics for passage rate.
Elie,
Stop your anti-Big East trolling. There are FOUR major college football teams in Florida. South Florida > Fl. State > Miami. Go eat a donut.
No, thank you, 12.
I take it 12 didn't pass
Passed. Now I can enter the wonderful world of document review. Thanks Florida Bar!
Suck on my Stetson prestige, you walrus blowing homos!
Stetson Secure
Failed, again! From T1 school. Oh well, who care anyhow, no job, deferred and living the good life.
14, stop whining. When USF finishes a season in the top 25 or starts beating out the "big 3" for football recruits (or regular applicants, for that matter) you can start making that argument.
8: Good idea but not schticky enough.
Indiana posts results on Oct. 2 (one week from Friday).
Below above the law, LaTTTham, etc.
20, the big east is a BCS conference until the powers that be decide otherwise. Therefore, USF is a major football team in the state of Florida. Yes, maybe not historically, but currently.

Sadly, I agree.

Passed - and I'm not old or inappropriate - freed from the golden handcuffs of BigLaw in DC and now working in-house with a Fortune 100 company - living on the beach, commute is only 15 minutes, kids attending great public schools, Bright Future Scholarships pay for much of kid's college tuition if at least 3.5 GPA, etc. It's sunny and 85 degrees today - and I'll be home in time to celebrate with a margarita on the beach while watching the sunset!
22 - I would not press your logic too hard. No one considers the Big XII's Baylor a "major football team" in Texas.
25, Well done! Congrats!
20, I believe that USF has been beating out Miami and Fl. State for recruits for some time. Both Miami and Fl. State have been down since the ACC raid. USF has consistently been in the top 25 over the past few years. This year the Big East is down as a whole, but we'll see a few teams break into the Top 25 here soon. Nevertheless, USF currently is a much better program in terms of talent, recruits, and coaching then either Miami or Fl. State.
American Samoa - passed.
Suck my ass, Mystal.
how does florida's results come out so fast?? gotta wait 2 more months for NY or CA
12.. wow.. your ability to write 2 sentences without making any friggin sense is absolutely amazing.
People like you are exactly the type of douchebags we need in the legal system. Start framing a correct sentence before taking the bar exam, you jackass!!!
25 - bragged just enough to guarantee October hurricane. Good luck.
25 -- why didn't you just take the FL bar the first time before working in DC? doesn't DC accept the FL bar?
that's my plan. am i missing something?
is the FL bar hard compared to VA, MD, etc?
New Rule:
Only Kash can talk about sports. Ellie doesn't know anything about them because he's too busy trying to take down the legal industry and Lat would just talk about how hot football players look in tights.
34
Bill Maher is an ass, no doubt about it
lol 12
28 - Perhaps it is more accurate to say that USF is the least suckiest.
33 -- took the MD bar and lived there for several years -- didn't have plans at the time to relocate to Florida. I found the essay section of FL bar to be similar in difficulty to the MD bar; I thought the multiple choice section of the FL bar was much more difficult -- many nit-picky questions about partnerships and corporations -- although I didn't have as much time to study for the FL bar. I was not confident that I'd pass, so I'm quite relieved.
30 - NC bar results were out like two weeks ago. Some states do their character & fitness and due diligence on applicants before sitting for the exam. They usually have much earlier deadlines for their apps. Others (NY) do it later. NY and CA also have a larger number of applicants.
33 - Yes you can. VA is supposed to be pretty hard, and MD is supposed to be pretty easy, but it's really impossible to compare bar exam difficulty since no one receives a grade beyond P/F. The best proxy I can think of is to check to see how thick the BarBri outline is. For example, the NY outline is more than twice as thick as the CA outline, and having taken both exams, I'd say that NY was much harder to study for based simply on the amount of material.
38 -- thanks. so you think if i take the FL bar the first time around and have the luxury of regular preparation, that it's not too bad/stressful (compared to MD)?
i'm actually glad that FL makes it hard for annoying-ass new yorkers to move down there and create a glut of lawyers..
congrats on the move. i intend to "pay some dues" in DC first and then join you on the beach at 7:00pm with a comfortable salary, no state taxes, etc.
28, WOW, you must seriously must be flame. Look at these recruiting rankings.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/classrankings
USF cracked the top 25 for the first time ever last year and STILL were ranked below Miami and FSU. Miami and FSU recruited top classes in all of their mediocre years.
USF is improving, but they have a LONG, LONG way to go before many recruits consider them over FSU or Miami.
28 - "USF currently is a much better program in terms of talent, recruits, and coaching then either Miami or Fl. State."
Either you're an idiot or you think everyone else is an idiot. Playing cupcakes every year along with the Big Least schedule doesn't not make South Florida a legitimate program. Any recruits you may have beat out Miami and Florida St. for were most likely academically ineligible to play anywhere else, except for maybe West Virginia...not that Miami's or Florida St.'s standards are all that high either.
41 -- I believe that FL should be comparable with MD in difficulty with the luxury of regular preparation -- although no matter where you take it, it's going to be stressful. Now that I've passed, I'm also glad that FL makes it difficult for New Yorkers and everyone else to move down to enjoy the good life -- there's already too many lawyers here.
NC Bar Taker who Passed- our results were mailed the last Friday of August. Posted online the next week.
We had to turn our applications in back in Jan, late apps in March. So they've been working our CandF apps for 4-7 months before we ever took the exam.

NC Bar Taker who Passed,
I didn't know they admitted people who stutter..er er er
Florida State = 91.4% Passage (#1)
U. Florida = 86.3% Passage (#2)
Guys, the USF guys is a troll. Don't feed him. NO reasonable person thinks USF is out recruiting The U or FSU.

25 - I was curious, so I went to http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune500/2009/states/FL.html to see what fortune 100 companies would have a headquarters/legal dept in FL. FL's first company is only ranked 101.
51,
I find it moderately amusing that Arkansas appears to have more Fortune 100 companies than FL does. (Wal-Mart, Tyson and Murphy Oil (2, 89 and 92 respectively).
And apropos of nothing, Arkansas Bar exam results were released and posted on September 4th.
@25
Have fun being a proud parent of Florida Atlantic graduates.
I took both Virginia (Feb 09) and FL (07/09), passed both. Florida was harder than VA b/c of the specific FL mulitple choice questions. However, there were more subjects and essays in VA
"Stetson secure." I love it!
33 - I have passed all 3. If you survived either Va or Md, you'll easily pass Fla. Unless they've changed the format in recent years, there's only 3 essays on Florida, and they almost always ask about the Fla aspects of a MBE subject, so even if you don't know the Fla specifics, you can easily BS your way through it. And the multiple choice questions were either impossibly esoteric or childishly easy, but it was much more the latter than the former.
When do IL bar results come out?
Imagine if the fine journalist at this website would actually tabulate a pass fail rate for us-that would be news. Everyone who took the fl bar already knew the results were coming today.
40 - that's the myth, but the VA and MD pass rates are usually pretty similar (and, of note, both were significantly lower than NY these past few years)
FSU totally rocked the Bar passage rate. 91.4% Bitches.
gaTTTors.
Bar examiner's website has stats for first time test takers
No. 56 - Yeah they almost always test MBE questions on the Fla. essay....subjects like Family Law and Florida Con Law....right on.
60, sorry that your 91.4% bar passage rate still can't land any of your classmates a biglaw gig.
I'm thinking 25 either works for Burger King or one of the cruise lines, those are the only big corps I can think of with headquarters 15 minutes from the beach.
60 - as if, in ANY sense, FSU could ever top UF. athletic, academic - keep dreaming.
25 - Based on your post you seem old AND inappropriate. Free tuition in Florida sounds like an offering of free poop. Making your kids go there is like making them play in the free poop.
But keep hope alive for your little ones since if you can tie your shoes in Florida, you can "earn" a 3.5 in high school (kinda like Georgetown law)!
12 - right on! Go Florida education!
Hey 69-72, why don't you post your comment again. I loved reading it four times and would love to read it again. I bet your noisy potential "peers" know how to post a comment. And I bet the 30% who failed also know how to properly post a comment. I also bet that most of the 30% know how to formulate coherent sentences. I cringed each time I read your terribly written sentences. Can't wait to have you as my peer. :)
69-72: unlike you, at least the "immature kids" probably know how to use an "internet machine," or whatever you call it. I see that you've filled one of the FLA criteria - old.
67 - 66 here; hey, how's it going? Looks like you've got me pegged. Well, if a deep six-figure salary at a top ten firm doing work I mostly like, great family, no more education loans, and a mostly paid-off 5000 sq ft home with a small yard and garage in a major city is being "trapped," then you've got me figured out.
Come to think of it - I'm not sure if I'm unhappy, lonely, and bitter either. I go to ATL sometimes at night for entertainment on my free time, not during working hours as a distraction like you apparently do (unless you are Elie). Though you may be unemployed in Florida, so I guess you are tired. Since you are tired, I offer you Mr. Thorogood's solution of one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer. Please take them and post me in the morning.
75 -- why do you keep defending yourself??? stop!! I've been following you all thread long. You don't let up. Someone with your esteemed credentials and successful lifestyle should not bother yourself with people's envy. Do your thing and continue celebrating life. The more you respond, the less credible you appear. Congrats and good luck!
76 - this is 51. Are you a stalker or the board police? You can't insult someone and be surprised if they reply.
77 - penis.
78 - tourette boy, that is not a complete sentence. Maybe it is for you, and that is why you are inappropriate.
Thanks, 76, but not necessary. I would classify you not as a penis, but more as a dildo in a land of butt plugs.
75 - I thought I saw someone on a 3-wheel scooter with cataract glasses following me around. That was you??!! What a weirdo. I posted for the first time on Tuesday, so I'm not sure how you latched onto me - you psycho! I have known enough people from Florida to know that #5 was right -- if that is who you think I am. You ass-hat.
