I hope the Supreme Court does the right thing. It's utterly perverse that the FEC exists. How is it that we have a government agency which exists solely to limit political speech?
NC Court system is so screwed up, the Wake County Bar had to donate basic office supplies.

Uh, the Citizens United argument is tomorrow, not today. But tomorrow, it will be today.
Where is MysTTTTTTTTTal?
Is he not over his vacation yet?
Do we have a Czar for the FEC yet?
I like this judge in Ohio. Maybe we can get the winners of the contest to where the "ATL Biggest Douche" t-shirts?
Where are these t-shirts for me to wear?
-I'm a douche?
3-Maybe that's just because Raleigh is such a dump?

Can someone please tell me what is wrong with unlimited campaign contributions linked to full disclosure of those contributions? Does anyone really think that if WalMart gave 100 million dollars to a campaign it wouldn't be easy to smear that candidate with a few bucks and an attentive news organization...oh wait there's no such thing as the latter...
Lol TTTexas. What happened to all that bs about respecting the president, un-Americanism, treason, etc? Hypocrites...
@9 CharloTTTe sucks my grandfather's nipples.
11 - While I don't oppose the President adressing the school children, why should it be mandatory? Have any other Presidential address to students been required viewing?
13 - This is certainly precedented (H.W. Bush and Reagan). Whether kids had to watch was not really an issue because there wasn't the insane uproar over brainwashing, socialism, etc. The entire discourse was more grounded then; politics have really spun out of control.
You're right 14, and the media has made it much, much worse.
The obvious left wing bias on most of the major networks has gotten so under the skin of a huge number of non-leftists after decades unchecked, with 90% of Washington correspondents voting Democrat, active campaigning by reporters for Democrats, scandals with falsified information being used by ostensible newspeople to impugn Republicans, etc., that many non-leftists will now no longer watch or listen to anything but Fox news and talk radio, while left wingers accuse those newer outlets of right wing bias at the same time (rightly or wrongly).
I have a hard time seeing how we pull out of it - the politics of fear have taken hold and it's hard to address the populace at large by speaking calmly and rationally when the other side is telling them the economy will totally collapse if they can't spend $1 trillion TODAY to boost their campaign contributor banks, ACORN, and the NEA, that our health care system will implode imminently unless the government can spend another trillion by next week, etc. We're so screwed.
