The IL bar passage rate is about 95%. If you can't pass the IL bar, you are destined to work in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, or Alabama as a paralegal. Really kids, it's the easiest bar in any place (read: Chicago) worth practicing law in.

If you have an email, you CAN check the site. They just added some code that won't let you submit the login. Instead, type "ibaby" into google and click on the cached version of the site. Log in there, and you can see your results (if you've been sent an email, anyway).

Essentially you can get a letter, for a small fee, saying if your score is high enough for D.C. and Minnesota- that is the only thing that you can find out (133 and 145 respectively I believe)... I'm an "L", but I'm not a computer geek. Is it plausible that they are timing the emails and access to ibaby so that not everyone can log in at once and crash the system? So they send emails to "A" thru "D" and give them an hour check, and then move on to emails to "E" thru, say, "H" or something?

Long answer, it seems that they are sending out emails in batches over time. It also seems that your results may not be posted to your page until your email goes out.

Since the login is your email, there wouldn't be a way to check before you try and login if you were "allowed" to login at that point.*

*At least there wouldn't be a way without a query to the database server at which point you've already let everybody in and crashed the system.

Based upon that, you can determine whether to transfer your MBE scores. I took the bar and scored high enough to waive into MN and D.C. so I am transferring my scores to NY for the February exam.

It doesn't work that way. Once you get your email your results are on the system. The problem is getting into the system generally (it isn't like they only let you check for an hour after they email you). As more and more people get emails, more and more people try and get in and boom, the site goes down.

I also blame ATL for the cache workaround. Was good for a little bit but I'd bet that people doing that was what brought the whole thing down.

A timeline for you:

~9 am - emails start going out.
~10 am - ibaby alters code on the main site to prevent you from logging in.
~12:12 pm - people post on here that you can still login if you use the Google cache version of the site.
~1:30 pm - site seems to go down completely

Present - Hit refresh and pray to get in. Some people are able to get results but performance is spotty.

Bottom Line: If you've gotten an email the site has your results IF you can get on it. Even if you got an email at 9:01 am, IF you can get logged on you can still check your results now.

As for people that didn't get emails... I don't know. I got one earlier today but was only just know able to get in and see that I passed!

The letter was under "Admissions Messages" if I recall correctly - on the right hand side of the page in bold. You'll see it. I was too excited to be able to read it when I finally got in, so I didn't pay much attention to where it was. Good luck - hope you get yours soon!

Last name begins with L, applied May 15th, haven't heard anything but I know H's, M's, R's and T's who haven't heard anything either & people who applied in Jan, March & May. At this point, I am not sure emails are being sent out to people anymore. I was able to access ibaby through cache (5 min ago) & was able to login and see my whole file. However, I had no new admission messages waiting for me.
I think that each person responsible for certain letters of the alphabet was given a slot of time to enter in whether their group of bar takers passed or failed. However, when the server crashes, it seems to skip over people entered. It doesn't mean you failed, it doesn't mean you passed. It just means frustrating, ridiculous computer problems that Ibaby should have foreseen & handled.

353 - don't feel too down. I failed the IL bar in February by three fucking points.. It was the worst feeling ever, but just jump back on it. Go to the exam review w/someone else. They can provide good insight as to areas you think you did fine in, but actually didn't.

I took the exam again in July. I was nervous as hell checking that message, but I am happy now. Don't feel inadequate. Lots of bright people fail the first time. Just figure out how to beat it next time around. Good luck!

There is no question that I bombed the essay portion, but I think PMBR saved me on the MBE. I know it's expensive but it's definitely worth it. Give it a go in Feb. Kaplan offers an unlimited review and grading of essays and a money back guarantee. This is very inviting for me since the essay writing is the weaker of the two.

379 -- don't take their word on what they "predict" will be on the exam. And don't take their lecture notes and being the only thing you need to study. The most useful parts of Barbri's package -- the Convisor Mini Review, the sample essays and answers, and practice MBE questions.
