Coming to the Defense of Judge Kevin P. Moriarty

kevin_moriarty.jpgLast month, we linked to a story in Courthouse News Service about Kansas Judge Kevin Moriarty. Kansas attorney Kimberly Ireland filed a lawsuit against Judge Moriarty, alleging that he had used inappropriate language and masturbated during her divorce mediation.

In her suit, she said that her ex-husband supported her and had testified about the judge’s inappropriate behavior at the mediation during their divorce trial.

After the post went up, her ex, Kevin Ireland, reached out to us to set the record straight:

First off, I am not in support of this lawsuit. I never had issue with anything the judge did during our mediation.

There may have been some bad language, but there was no beating of the honorable gavel, says Ireland.

According to Kevin Ireland, Judge Moriarty did use “the f word” during the mediation, but did not get frisky underneath his robes:

At no point did I see any conduct on the part of Judge Moriarty that I could even twist into the thought that he was masturbating.

Was Ireland just jerking off with this lawsuit?

Kash, are you a fan of Samwell's infectious grooves and too sick licks?

guys in my high school used to pound the gavel all the time, so what's the big deal?

3 - (most) women are crazy liars. especially when they can see $$ or a way to hurt their ex.

I think you should put the exculpatory evidence above the fold, btw.

Is it true that most JAP chicks prefer it in the butt prior to marriage?

Did I miss something? Did poorly written fratstud posts become an independent meme? There have been a bunch recently. Or maybe it's just a bunch of future Belmont law school grads....

Kash, this whole story smells fishy. Like those cans of tuna that I love so much. Or something else.

Kash, what is your favorite sexual position?

The whole story seems suspect to me. I'm not sure how they do things in Kansas, but I've never been to a mediation where the judge wore his or her robes during the mediation.

Ms. Ireland - why the long face?

avatar
18 Posted by guest | Permalink Thursday, October 8, 2009 4:40 PM

First, there is absolutely no evidence of the judge engaging in any misbehavior.

Sure, there were some suspicious sounds of cheap, nylon fabric rubbing together furiously. And the judge, his face contorted in agony or ecstasy, periodically panted out the words "Hear ye! Hear ye!" And sure, at one point the judge grasped the edge of the table, his knuckles white and tensed, while almost yelling "Sustained! Oh for the love of Mercy sustained!"

Aside from those proclivities though, the mediation can only be described as run of the mill.

We are missing an important detail. Did the judge keep his socks on during this alleged sexual activity?

Wow, you really need therapy.

Distraught divorced female making stuff up to undo a court result...never would have guessed. Guess she didn't have any kids to claim were abused by their father.

Lying about the judge's antics and her ex-husband supporting her story--surprised she's not a Harvard Law grad.

21 - you are close! This is how she plans to delay her disbarment hearing(s). Ms. Ireland did actually file TWO Protection from Abuse cases against her ex. Both were found to be without merit.

So, since none of you know Judge Moriarty, let me tell you. Within his first thirty days as a new district judge, the average, overweight, middle aged staff he had was quickly replaced with attractive young females who wear gogo boots, lowcut tops, and tight jeans to work in his courtroom. Hmmm. Bob Barker and his girls, Division 14.

We hired Kim Ireland for a case and thought it was strange she asked for cash up front to get started.

She kept the money, refused to provide any documentation or return calls and we never saw her again. Needless to say nobody was surprised to see her on the news for potential fraud.

judge moriarty needs to be investigated for his DECISIONS on cases. in my case, he deemed that "when my child is in school, i dont get parenting time, while my child is sleeping, i dont get counted for parenting time." etc etc etc. he then ordered me to pay my EX $350 per month,( WHILE MY CHILD LIVES WITH ME) for the next 6 months, and then the following 6 months my EX is ordered to pay me $528 per month. my child lives with me. paying an EX, while your child lives with you, is called ALIMONY, and NOT child support. this moron moriarty needs to be removed from the bench. he made personal remarks towards me during the proceedings, that had nothing to do with the case. he makes decisions based on his feelings towards people, INSTEAD of the FACTS. i noticed that he has custody of his daughters though. i have NEVER heard of this type of decision that he made in my case. he is a DICK, no wonder he(supposedly) plays with himself during court. INVESTIGATE HIM NOW!!!!!!! all his decisions!!!!!

He does NOT have custody of his daughters and never did. They are all adults and have as little to do with him as possible.

obviously none of you know kevin moriarty. he was a respected and amazing defense attorney for over 20 years. he worked on some of the hardest cases and the reason why people hate on his actions is because they are unconventional, but guess what? it put him on the map as a strong attorney and eventually earned him a position as a judge in johnson county.
moreover, while he may be a dick in court sometimes [i'll warrant that statement, but let's be honest, being nice and cordial isn't part of any courtroom], he by no means would ever EVER find it acceptable, or for that matter, exciting, to masturbate during a mediation. and i'm sorry kathy, but we all know that since your husband left you, you're just hoping that people would buy that judge moriarty would get off to the sight of you. he wouldn't. and by showcasing your inability to represent yourself effectively during this mediation, your only option was to attack judge moriarty with a completely outrageous claim. kathy, your behavior is a reason that women are constantly doubted in male-dominated fields. you are a disgrace and sleazy lawyer who should be disbarred immediately.
as for those of you that find it's acceptable to discuss judge moriarty's relationship with his daughters in relation to this totally false accusation, how do you think that's possibly relevant? whoever said moriarty has custody of his children... are you dense? his two eldest daughters were over legal age at the time of his divorce, the youngest just being a few years shy. and for someone to say that his children have nothing to do with him is completely disrespectful and irrelevant to the central story. moriarty's personal relationship with his family is of no concern except to him and his daughters. with this said, i hope that all of you know you are disgracing the moriarty family as much as you are judge moriarty by believing ireland's lame attempt to save herself.

kathy ireland, there is a special place in hell for people like you. you have brought shame to all women and have made them look like money-sucking whores. way to go.
