Where is ELIE????
Agree with #1 - if Elie has been canned, we deserve to know.
and FIRST!
I don't get it. The QE memo was fixed around comment 75, as far as I can tell. So it didn't get 800 comments because of the error; it got that many comments because the memo was crazy, even without the error.
JAKE EMERITUS: WHERE ARE YOU?
At this point, can I raise a practical question? Is Elie going to be back tomorrow?
Elie is clearly done. Either that or Lat is staging a fight to drum up views.
Maybe Elie is just home sick. It's flu season, afterall.
welcome back david! we have missed you!
This is how stealth layoffs used to be - the person was so ashamed of being shown the door he would practically disappear without a trace. Note that Elie is still on the website, maybe Lat is letting him technically keep his job while he looks for something else.
4,
does this reinforce the theory that PE is lat and JE is Elie? Elie doesn't post and JE goes missing?
Elie's incompetence is truly beyond the pale. He should have been fired long ago, and there was absolutely no excuse for keeping him after the Good Samaritain Liability idiocy. The QE misquoted email (later corrected) is a reasonable mistake by comparison.
Elie is still on the header, which is easily changed. Maybe he is on vacation.
Maybe he is watching quietly in the background, seeing if he will be missed. (He is.)
Maybe if we stop with the walrus comments he will come back.
-not Elie's Mom.
Is it that difficult to see what's being staged here? A week ago an asian boy supposedly disappears in a balloon, only to be discovered hidden in his attic in a publicity stunt. It's the same stunt here, except this time the giant balloon has been hidden and replaced with an asian boi. So derivative.
I don't think Elie is "done" - ATL just fixed the glitch...
This post is addressed to commenters Nos. 1-14:
I farted.
Reasons to bring Ellie back:
1. Lat's posts are interesting only to him;
2. People love to edit Ellie's work;
3. Ellie is troll food.
13--Okay, that's funny.
Is anyone friends with Elie on Facebook? Does he have a status update there?

We need to bomb the makers of Weekend at Bernie's back to the stoneage!

I miss Elie. Bring him back please.
PE, when you farted, you almost blew my dick out of your ass. Please don't do that again, as I was close to the joy point. By the way, when are you going to pay me for the last job.
13, lol.
BigLaw partner here: Don't you fools know that your firms can track each time you log on to this stupid web site? And you wonder why you're buddies are picked for layoffs. Stupid, just plain stupid.
Incorrect use of "you're" is just plain stupid, stupid.
Also requires an extra keystroke, so you have to perform that additional little bit of stupid effort to pull it off.
If less Elie means more Kash, I'm all for it. Yum!
The courts cannot order the release of immigrants into the country. It's the plenary power doctrine, and it has over a century of precedent. Look it up.
100mm is a rounding error for XOM. Good luck collecting. Ask (anyone ever to sue Exxon) how that worked out for them.
McDermott Will & Emery lost another huge case? Is anyone shocked? I'm not as it seems to happen all the time.
Since when has the Supreme Court ever cared about plenary authority being granted to another branch? That's just a "suggestion" by those silly Framers, who lived so long ago they couldn't possibly have created a system flexible enough to endure today.
This is NOT a "big loss" for McDermott. Exxon clearly had contaminated the water. It was just a matter of how friendly (or vindictive) the NYC jury would be to one of America's biggest companies. McDermott did a great job on the case and almost won it after the first phase.
WHY did EXXON MOBILE hire a crap firm like McDermott. I thought they were represented by the big boys.
