I understand the "no weapons" thing . . . but what's up with "no scary"? This is HALLOWEEN for crying out loud. It is SUPPOSED to be scary. People tell SCARY STORIES. People dress up as SCARY CREATURES.

You know what . . . I sent my daughter to school today dressed like a dead fairy. She had a white painted face with blood stained lips and dark circles under her eyes. My neighbor sent his son to school as a zombie and a kid down the street went as the grim reaper. I dare anyone to say anything to any of us about it, too. I just dare them.

I hate food racism. Like the fact that Asian people are always eating asian food. It is crazy. Why cant asians just leave asian foodstuffs alone?

Girls in my high school used to dress up as sexy French maids and Sailor Moon every Halloween. It was no big deal.

they are worried about Halloween because it may reinforce sterotypes about certain groups? How about starting with the media and stereotypes in movies and music? That has far more impact than some stupid costume someone might wear.

This is PC gone entirely wrong. I'd probably dress my kid up as Leatherface just to protest these stupid policies. With school districts like these, it is no wonder our kids are falling behind.

Identifying distinct and insular ethnic groups by the kinds of foods they eat is food racism, plain and simple.

Food racism is particularly discomfitting to us walruses. I will not stand, er, recline for it.

I have given up with inane public school policies.

You can't dress up as anything scary, because that might offend someone's religion, but a six-year old girl can dress as Princess Jasmine, including the bare-midriff. I guess this is the one exception where schools do prioritize anti-violence over anti-sex.

You can't sing songs of or pertaining to Christmas at a "Winter Pageant," but you can sing songs from any other religion. The last one of these I went to, all songs containing the word "Christmas" were expunged (leaving only Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer intact), but the sole student from the Zulu tribe in the school was able to sing a religious song shared by the tribe. I guess not every culture shared by the student body gets a shot.

Teachers may only teach the following: sex is a horrible, dirty evil that will cause painful, odious diseases like HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, clap, and pregnancy--therefore, it should be saved for the one person you love the most.

And this hypocritical, asinine tripe doesn't just stop at "moral" and religious issues. The same mindless administrators making these decisions also are the geniuses behind zero-tolerance policies, the apex of which was the strip-search-for-an-ibuprofen of recent Supreme Court vintage. Those twisted administrators deserved a public pillory and one hundred lashes apiece for that. Instead, robed FTT hacks gave them qualified immunity. Go figure.
