That's BY FAR the best photo of this Brooke Hundley character.
Re: "How many docs can you review per hour?"
It is not uncommon for junior corporate attorneys involved in due diligence for a public securities offering to "review" literally thousands of documents in an hour. Makes you wonder why it's called "diligence."
Only a bunch of asshole self-entitled judges could think about ordering all attorneys to do 50 hours of pro bono work. The judges have their 9 to 5 jobs, with decent salaries, no layoffs, and great retirement, plus they get to play god. Hard-working attorneys need more time at home with the family, not providing free legal work to the unwashed masses. Fuck the judges.
Wow. Fat chicks are hell when you break it off.
Is it even possible for Obama to be challenged from the left?
It is now safe to say that the Mets being a mediocre baseball team can be attributed to Steve Phillips eye for talent.

I think it's great what the Iowa Supreme Court is asking. All lawyers should be doing that anyway without being asked. But then again, the law is filled with a bunch of money-hungry, useless assholes like #4 who don't lift a finger unless they're helping rape the "unwashed masses" for a big fat paycheck.
And, for the record, there is only 1 state law school in Iowa. (U of Iowa). The other is Drake, a private law school.
9 - it should be optional, not forced by a group of people with none of the financial worries that hour-billing attorneys have...
An extremely small percentage of attorneys make the big bucks.
And for the record, being a judge is not public interest law...When I would hear judges speak in law school about how fulfilling their "public interest" job is, I would want to throw up. Just because you are paid with tax dollars does not mean you are in public interest. A job with 99% security (see J. Halverson), a solid salary, a pension and outstanding benefits is not a "public interest" job.
The saddest thing about it is that Steve Philips is a handsome, intelligent millionaire. WTF was he doing with that troll in the first place? If you are going to gamble your family's happiness like that, at least get yourself a nice piece of dat ass - like Spitzer, or even Sanford.
9, go fuck yourself. As soon as the govt gives me back the tuition, I will work for free, but not a penny sooner.
- Minority attorney
I respectfully second the call for 9 to go and fuck himself. I am perfectly entitled (and very much obligated) to look out for my family and for myself. As it happens, I also do plenty of pro bono - but I owe that to precisely nobody.
I hope your high horse rapes you like I rape the unwashed masses.

You are a douchebag. We live in a country where the government is making it harder to get an education. Rather than increasing the money going directly to schools to get an education, they give it to the bankers to "increase lending." Gee. Thanks. Then, they turn around and reduce funding for public interest law.
It is very goddamn hypocritical to increase the cost of my education and cut funding for public interest work while saying that more lawyers should do public interest. You want more public interest law- make more public interest law money available. You know, like when you want to bomb another country, so you ship assloads of money to defense contractors. You want me to do more for free? Help me out on the front end by not saddling me with crushing debt.
Bingo. You want more pro bono work, jubilee 2010. In exchange, I'll do 500 hours of pro bono next year with a smile on my face.
In the Biglaw business model, many associates who are about to get laid off are often given pro bono assignments. It's amost like a last meal.
No one in their practice group will give them any substantive work, and the thinking is that the pro bono work is something they can't screw up which will keep them occupied until they are canned.
When colleagues or former law school classmates talk to me about their wonderful pro bono cases, I feel bad for them, because I think they may be out of a job in a month or 2- they are walking the plank and they don't even know it.
2 FTW. Brooke Hundley is hideous, I can't believe that Steve Phillips would cheat with HER. Why not hire a good looking provider for crying out loud? She must have been willing to do things that other girls wouldn't, but those too can be found on the menus of attractive providers. Trust me.
Reading comprehension fail. The judges are asking, not forcing the pro bono work. This is not uncommon, the DC bar has a similar aspirational goal.
Vote #9 first to be sued for malpractice. sucker.
When powerful men have affairs with low level subordinate employees the turn on is almost always about power and not sex so looks are irrelevant or even a detriment because the good looks of the subordinate give the subordinate some power in the relationship. See, e.g., Clinton, Bill; Letterman, David.
Or some men just aren't picky.
