First MCfirsterson strikes again
Is Jack Balkin standing by the fake quote anyways because he knows that's what Justice Scalia thinks?
Gosh, David, I thought someone with your sensibilities could find a better picture of me than THAT! I guess I made the right decision in giving myself to Annie.
Who the hell actually reads that What About Clients dreck??? Every post is a load of self-righteous drivel. Stop linking to him.
2,
If that's the case, then good for Balkin.
Even if Limbaugh didn't commend MLK's assassin or Scalia didn't say he would have dissented in Brown, it's perfectly acceptable to attribute fake quotes to these racist, hate-mongering, bigoted conservatives because we know they're really evil on the inside.
Actual quotes should be reserved for big-hearted, forward-thinking progressives.
Kash - will you give me a ShaFeef?
Am I the only one who would bang the heck out of Sotamayor?
First I would have her sit on my face with her ample hips and derriere. Just sit there until I've had my fill. Then I would get lost in her luscious tits and body as we roll around the bed. and yes, eventually I would pull her panties aside and tear into that wet spot. I'd f it hard, I'd f it like a jackhammer. Damn she turns me on.
WTF - Why aren't more democrats rioting in the streets over how Obama is running this country . . . into the ground.?
A dissent would have articulated the proper legal outcome.
Sotomayor is, bar none, the ugliest woman on the American national scene. Worse than Hillary, worse than Palin, worse than Condi, even worse than Manchelle Osama.
10, no she is not. you are cruel
Lat/Mystal-
Great idea for a story here. How about following up on how former judge J. Michael "I don't get paid enough" Luttig is feeling about his move to Boeing and if his stated rationales for doing so have been met? Does a private company that just posted a $1.6B loss for Q3 offer more financial opportunities and security than a federal circuit court seat?
The Left does not care about truth, or justice, or any of that. So it goes when your life is guided soley by nihilism, narcissism and envy.
"Are bankers even more narcissistic than lawyers?"
Yes. Ever met a banker?
ATL: Here's a lawsuit that is actually NEWS and kinda relates to Sotomayor:
LAWSUIT: East St. Louis refuses to hire white police chief

Sotomayor looks pretty good on her website:

7,
I cannot unread what I just read.
Fuck your mother, 11. Cruel or not, I am right.
11, OK, aside from Helen Thomas; she is the ugliest woman on the national scene.
Why would any fashion magazine put this woman in its publication except to make Michelle Obama look like a fashion icon.

8. Think like the client--help control costs.
That's funny.
7 - you must be so desperate that you probably would bang Elie Mystikal's massive ass.
Why would any white, yellow, red or brown person ever want to live or work in East St Louis? I'd rather live in Zimbabwe - its government is neither as corrupt nor as inept as that of East St Louis and the poverty rate is comparable.
Lat, please remove your cock from Scalia's ass. Thank you.
Uh, Walrus...
I was making a reference to Rush Limbaugh's joke...in fact, I listened to him discussing it live two days ago...apparently anything beyond surface irony isn't your strong suit?
And besides, your comment is disingenuous, as fake quotes/actions are hardly reserved solely for conservatives. Al Gore never claimed that he "invented the internet," Bill Clinton's staff did not trash the White House before GW Bush came in, Obama was never Muslim (not that it would even matter if he was), Obama never made pro-infanticide comments, Obama has not called for the creation of "death panels"...I could do a thesis just on lies about Obama.
Conservatives even bash their own, apparently--Lindsey Graham, with conservative accolades out the ass, was decried as having a "moderate-left" voting record by wacko Nancy Morgan, among other choice phrases.
FAIL - Al Gore in an interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN: "I took the initiative in creating the Internet."
FAIL - Houston Chronicle: In an apparent prank carried out by departing Clinton administration staffers, Bush aides discovered that dozens of computer keyboards were missing the "W" key. Bush aides said today that the W was marked out in some cases but often the key had been removed -- and sometimes taped on top of doorways -- or damaged with the spring broken." You fail.
HALF-FAIL - While adult Obama has not openly practiced Islam, it is undisputed that both his father and step-father were devout Muslims; that Obama grew up in Muslim-majority Indonesia; and that while in Indonesia, Obama's school records, which his mother completed, indicated his preferred religion as Islam (not that there's anything wrong with that).
FAIL - Obama has strongly supported partial-birth abortions and voted against the Infanticide Bill. While that may not be pro-infanticide to you, millions of Americans would strongly disagree.
FAIL - This fail is for attributing a quote to Obama's critics that they haven't made against Obama. Palin's "death panel" remarks weren't quotes attributed to Obama, they were her interpretation of what socialized medicide would lead to. She didn't say Obama said it; she just laid out his end game.
FAIL - Once again, characterizing someone's voting record as "moderate-left" is not tantamount to falsely attributing quotes to that individual. Morgan didn't say Graham said his own voting record was "moderate-left," she said that is how she views it. FAIL FAIL FAIL for critical analysis.
Alas, why the fuss? Like I said, fake QUOTES are for conservatives. We know what they really think.
Oh, and while I'm awake, let me just add that the Clinton example and the Obama examples you so artfully chose were not actual quotes (e.g., whether or not a prank was carried out by Clinton staffers is hardly a quote falsely attributed to Clinton).
But you did manage to fail on the one Gore quote.
(Not that there's anything wrong with that)
just checked out banker girl on bbg. too depressing that "banker hot" is as ugly as "lawyer hot." sigh.
Agree with 9, on stare decisis grounds if nothing else.
28, 29--
Gore--The context of the quote was with respect to initiatives he took in Congress (that is, drafting or voting on bills), one of which was for creating the internet. He wasn't seriously arguing that he stayed up late at night developing the internet. And in any event, if we're going to parse words to that extent, McCain's camp made a nearly identical statement with respect to the Blackberry--despite that he doesn't even use a computer. Do I think he was seriously claiming that he invented the Blackberry? No--that would be ridiculous in light of the context.
Clinton--Though that story was initially published when Bush took office, it was later discredited as based upon false information. Want to take a guess as to who in the Bush Administration was the source of the false information?
Obama--It's not even a half-fail. He is not Muslim, he is Christian. Ultra-conservative hacks who said he is--present tense--Muslim were making a shallow and nefarious attempt to discourage biased voters from voting for him. And please, keep snidely repeating back my parenthetical as though I am biased against Muslims. Please. If I really did think his religious status were relevant, I would have taken the same tact as John McCain or Colin Powell--just leave it at "he isn't Muslim."
On "death panels," complete and utter fail. Palin and her brainless ilk did not claim that this was something that socialized medicine would lead to, she said it was actually in the bill. It isn't. That particular section referenced by Palin allows doctors to be reimbursed for end-of-life consultations with patients. Wow, sounds like a death panel there--doctors getting paid for serious discussions with patients who want to form a plan in the unlikely case that they are rendered brain dead or terminally ill. Oh, and by the way, that provision was inserted by a Republican.
As for pro-infanticide, I should have been more specific. I was referring to kids that were actually delivered, fully out of the womb, umbilical cord cut. That Obama has never supported, despite his accusers stating otherwise. As for partial birth...tough issue, and I won't go there. I concede your point that it could be reasonably considered infanticide depending upon a moral viewpoint. I still haven't decided on the issue yet.
And might I note, I said that fake "quotes/actions" were not reserved for the left alone.
