UC Davis Law Students Need to Get a Room
I have criticized U.S. News for caring about the number of books available in a law school library. I’ve criticized the Thomas Cooley law school rankings for caring about the size of a law school library.
Clearly, I don’t know what a law school library should be used for. But students at UC Davis do.
A tipster tells us what is going down in the UC Davis computer lab:
Today I was doing some reading in the computer lab area of the law library, and I looked up and saw this sign. As a frequent computer lab studier, I can tell you that this is not a widespread problem (I wish), but targeted at a particular couple who is, let’s just say, overly affectionate.
The sign is pretty straightforward:

Slurping...? Exactly WHAT is going on under those computer desks?
It's that Diedre Dare or whatever woman reliving her law school glory.
Sign created by law student who wanted to have his handy work posted on ATL. Good job Mystal. What other crap are you going to post?
There's always plenty of privacy in the stacks.

IF A WHITE professor PUNCHED a black female teacher in an angry rage against Affirmative Action, how long would it be in the news? Weeks? Months?
WELL GUESS WHAT:
A prominent Columbia architecture professor punched a female university employee in the face at a Harlem bar during a heated argument about race relations, cops said yesterday.
Police busted Lionel McIntyre, 59, for assault yesterday after his bruised victim, Camille Davis, filed charges.
McIntyre and Davis, who works as a production manager in the school's theater department, are both regulars at Toast, a popular university bar on Broadway and 125th Street, sources said.
The professor, who is black, had been engaged in a fiery discussion about "white privilege" with Davis, who is white, and another male regular, who is also white, Friday night at 10:30 when fists started flying, patrons said.

Certainly UC Davis is not accredited by the ABA, right?
it's four-twenty bitches. bill u.
"I looked up and saw this sign [that I had just hung with the plan to take a picture and send it to the internets]."
What is it with these black, affirmative-action professors? First, Columbia professor/plagiarist Madonna Constantine who hung a noose from her own office door and faked a "hate" "crime", then Obama's racist good friend Professor Gates yelling at law enforcement official doing their jobs, now this Columbia guy punching white, female teachers?
Columbia/Harvard + Affirmative Action = TTTT

10--I absolutely hate it when people question a school's ABA status on the basis of some insignificant story.
It's not as if PDA has anything to do with a school's ABA status, and the comment is so far removed from the topic that nobody lends it credence.
Is UC Davis even ABA accredited?
Can someone please delete the racist rants in the comments? Thanks.
14 = trolled.
What's with the hyphen after the colon?
16 = can't deal with reality.
Interesting...I too study in the UCD Law computer lab a lot, I never saw such a sign.
Maybe if this "student" spent less time making stupid signs on the computer and then sending it to ATL while claiming that he came across it by happenstance, he would actually make something of himself.
I hate attention whores with nothing better to do.
Query: If a student at a non-ABA-accredited law school transmits herpes to another student, who in turn transmits it to her husband, a partner at a non-peer firm, does the husband have a promissory estoppel claim? Because guys at my high school did that all the time.

I shaved my balls for this?
Last time I checked. UCD is accredited and ranks 35 in the country. Dumbasses.

14 -- It's a perfectly legitimate question. I'm not even sure if the University of California Davis King Hall School of Law has maintained its accreditation with the California Committee of Bar Examiners, much less is a member in good standing with the Association of American Law Schools.
Does anyone know if UCD is accredited? TYIA.
-- a dumbass
25 -- 24 totally beat you to it. owned.
26 - Wow.
Can someone delete the totalitarian liberal in #16 who doesn't want the public to hear facts?
Thx.
WTF does this sign or the article have to do with UC Davis' reputation w/ ABA? As far as I can tell, Davis' reputation is excellent and it's ranked incredibly high considering its only about 40 years old. All you haters need to get back to the stacks.
Sorry 16, you are no longer allowed to shut down conversations by claiming those who disagree with you are racist.
PC = Fort Hood.
20 -- amen.

Props to 34.
31 gave me the lulz.
I can't seem to get confirmation that UC Davis is accredited by the American Bar Association and a member in good standing of the Association of American Law Schools. Does anyone know for sure?
16: despite the temptation, I'm not going to flame you.
Just tell us: in what way were the posts relating to the Columbia professor punching a white woman "racist"?
Don't do something silly like label me a racist for raising the question. And don't go off into some rant. A black man punched a white woman, arising out of a discussion of "white privilege". Just answer the question: in what way were those posts "racist"?
By all means, though--please speak to us.
From what I remember when I applied to law schools, UC Davis was not among my target schools because I only considered schools accredited by the American Bar Association.
Apparently the commenters' that called UC Davis' accreditation into question did not bother to use a little research tool called the internet. There you go: http://www.abanet.org/legaled/approvedlawschools/alpha.html
Finally some confirmation. Thank you, 39.
I wish I would've posted this in the busstop (locker area) at Emory Law. Every 2009 grad knows which couple I'm talking about.

Read the sentence right above the 'Preparing for the Study of Law' section. Retards.
UCD is an accredited law school. See: http://www.abanet.org/legaled/approvedlawschools/alpha.html Look under California-Davis. This took me approximately 5 seconds to find.
ITT: UC Davis students who are new to ATL flamebags.
May I recommend the use of something called google? In the time it took you to ask your "legitimate question," you could have figured it out on your own. Just a thought.
Wow. This includes hands up each others skirts? This is a lesbian couple we are talking about here? I would kill to take a break from shepardizing nonsense to watch a little lesbo hanky panky. If I went to this school, and I knew who went to the administration to put a stop to it, I would accuse them of cheating on the next exam and have them hauled up before the honor court. I mean, really, you fucking gunners are ruining life for EVERYONE.
39, you must be ancient.
Why would there be any doubt about the accreditation status of a law school in the University of California system, one of the most respected public university systems in the world?? WTF is wrong with you people?
Those sources could easily have been manufactured. I find it extremely difficult to believe that UC Davis is accredited and a member in good standing of the AALS.
Why would there be any doubt about the accreditation status of a law school in the University of California system, one of the most respected public university systems in the world?? WTF is wrong with you people?
I bet this couple is HIDEOUS. PDA law students always are. Reminds me of the ugly UVA law students caught heaving and grunting in the law library.
16 here - I suppose it's the tone - the assumption that just because these people are African American that they are taking advantage of some sort of immunity to behave badly. Also, I don't see what these stories have to do with the article about Davis law students making out in the library. Maybe someone can explain that to me?
I saw the perpetrators (affectionately referred to as "slurpy couple") on a date a Bistro 33 last night. They were keeping things respectable, but only because they were all tuckered out from banging in the stacks.
Amusing how easily people take the bait. Also amusing that this post came out shortly after Lat visited Davis.
"Today I was doing some reading in the computer lab area of the law library, and I looked up and saw this sign"
No you didn't. Notice the lack of scotch tape holding up the sign. It is a fake.
Elie got pwned.
52 - What's a "public" university? Is it some kind of welfare thing?
I realize I may be a few decades removed from the law school landscape but when did they name a law school after an international tennis tournament (Davis Cup)?
Some posters need to seriously think before they start typing. It would be hard to imagine any University of California professional school to ever be unaccredited (except for the new UC Irvine law school which is subject to a 3-5 year accreditation process).
And yes, UC Davis stands for University of California, Davis. http://www.ucdavis.edu/index.html (See top left corner where it says in big blue letters University of California).
wait, these comments are confusing.
is the university of california davis school of law accredited or is it not? because if it's not why is it even on this site? i hate it when there's some post on some local firm nobody cares about outside of its market.
can we agree to keep this blog focused on amlaw200 and accredited law schools only?
48,
SHIRTS.
read much?
Looks like a lot of McGeorge students are posting today...
60 - So... all of the University of California professional schools are accredited, except the ones that aren't? That helps a lot. Thanks for adding so constructively to the discussion on whether UC Davis is or is not accredited by the ABA, and a member in good standing of the AALS.
64 (aka - dbag): only ONE UC school is unaccredited, and that's ONLY because it opened it just opened its doors.
65 - I'm sorry, but your comment is incomprehensible. You must have attended a school that is neither accredited by the ABA nor a member in good standing of the AALS. Please revise.
- 64
I graduated from the UNDERGRADUATE campus at UC Davis, but I refused to even APPLY to the law school -- it's made up of DUMB "professors" who spend their time encouraging illegal immigration (Dean Kevin Johnson, Bill Hing), and other ignorant Marxists like Martha West.
Sorry. It's true.
Remarkable how many Davis students felt compelled to validate their accreditation. Don't worry, it's accredited. And you are mildly retarded.
65 - ONLY ONE UC SCHOOL IS UNACCREDITED, AND THAT'S ONLY BECAUSE IT JUST OPENED THIS YEAR.
If you'd like, I can send it to you via another medium - braille, mp3, pop-up book, or your mom? I'm guessing your mom would be best...
Gentlemen at the legal preparatory academy with which I was once affiliated were, when the opportunities presented themselves, in the habit of utilizing libraries and other repositories of knowledge reduced into a preprinted paper form, not for the more ordinary purposes of learning and study, which are considered by most to be the best and highest uses of such institutions, but rather for the purpose of obtaining carnal knowledge of others. These events were viewed as unseemly by other gentlemen, who preferred to utilize the library in a more traditional manner, and therefore took it upon their own selves to promulgate placards and posters of warning directed the aforementioned gentlemen, where such placards attempted to express, in a certain level of detail, the modicum of opprobrium which those gentlemen felt with respect to the conduct they were compelled to observe. This was not considered to be of particularly material significance.
Please delete the ad hominem attack in post # 3.
69 - I'm sorry, but it is unclear which commenter you are addressing. It appears that 65 was your own comment. Your inability to properly indicate whom you are addressing is evidence that you attended a school that is neither accredited by the ABA nor a member in good standing of the AALS.
57 - There's also no proof that the sign is 1) in a computer lab 2) at UCD 3) not held to the wall with tape on the back.
54, the reason for the comments about the black Columbia professor punching a white female professor (thereby supposedly supporting Affirmative Action) in posts 7 & 13 is to give the writers of this blog a heads up.
Maybe they can focus on some interesting stories once in awhile.
ALSO, considering all the under-the-table slurping, the sign COULD be posted to the wall with some other sticky substance.
This after-hours thread, concerning a complete non-story, has turned out to be the funniest atl thread that I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Thank you all.
FIFTEEN MINUTES!
FIFTEEN MINUTE ALERT!
John Allen Muhammad will be executed in 15 MINUTES!
Yeaaaeeee!
FIRST to say I hope they jab John Allen Muhammad's veins a dozen times before finding a good injection site.
DEATH to Muhammad!
Gheez, you're all ignoring the important questions about the sign:
What's with the miniature penis after "to"?
What "sorts" are being fondled?
And what, exactly, is "back and forth swine flu"?
Didn't the new dean of UCD advise the Obama campaign on immigration issues? Is 67 the illusive GOP troll?
Why does the Wikipedia site for Muhammed have the born date, but not the death date under his picture?
They could go ahead and edit it to:
December 31, 1960 -- November 10, 2009
I'm a 2L at UCD and am familiar with this sign. I think it's totally justified that we try and keep the computer lab for studying only – it's bad enough that we lost our accreditation a few years ago, the decline in our facilities would only serve to jeopardize our standing in California (we can sit to take the "baby bar" still)
It's 9:00pm. Do you know what chemical cocktail is flowing?
Notice also that the sign is not posted parallel to the grain of the wood surface. If this sign were indeed posted, it would be adhered to the wall noticeably crooked. Fake.
80, I wouldn't doubt that the dean of UCD advised the neo-Marxist in the White House. However, the CURRENT immigration adviser is MUCH WORSE: None other than La Raza's vice prez, Cecilia Munoz.
The next president would have to appoint the Klan's v.p. to come close to a political opposite of this woman.
http://www.diggersrealm.com/mt/archives/003025.html
82 and 83 both cracked me up.
Or should I say, "quacked" me up?
Okay, a new Scare Tactics is on. Gotta go.
You're welcome, 76. And, you're welcome ATL for the page views.
- Guy who pissed off all the UC Davis students who are naive enough to follow a blog focused on biglaw.
Hastings >>>>> Davis
88, Davis is ranked 35th, while Hastings is 39th.
I'm going to go ahead and assume either you don't understand which way the 'greater than' symbol is supposed to go, or you have a complete inability to read. Neither would surprise me, and both serve as a decent indicator of why Hastings is ranked below Davis.
ucdavis is probably not aba accredited. who has even heard of that school?
Don't forget: The beltway sniper was a MUSLIM who carried out the killings as part of what he described as a "jihad."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but am I noticing a theme? I suppose I should know this.
OK everyone. I am a 2L at UC Davis who recently sat for the "baby bar." It is true that we lost our accreditation a few years back, but as other posters have indicated, we should have it back with a few years (takes 3-5, usually to become re-accredited). Currently, we are the only UC professional school lacking accreditation other than Irvine.
UCD students: stop posting. You make us look bad. The posters aren't seriously questioning our accreditation; they're mocking you. Don't be stupid.
I agree with 16.
It doesn't matter whether 7 & 13 actually said anything racist, it's the tone that counts.
Think about the Rush Limbaugh brouhaha. So what if fake quotes were falsely attributed to him? The positions he espouses conflict with the politically correct narrative. Or to paraphrase 16: he sounds like a racist, so he must be one. Actions are a mere technicality in a progressive society.
Thus, setting forth a reverse-race hypothetical is racist because it flies in the face of blacks as a victimized group. A white man punching a black woman in the face over an argument about affirmative action? Irrelevant. Didn't happen. Nothing to see here.
Besides, that white chick probably had it coming.
Who drank all my beer?
UCD students, stop posting. No one cares what an unaccredited school thinks.
Affirmative Walrus. HA HA HAHAHA, That's gotta be the best name I've ever seen. I CANNNNOT laugh without coughing every time I see it!
I went to UC Davis SOL. The facilities there are a joke.
96 -
Just because my school (UC Davis) is unaccredited does not mean I will not be successful and that my opinion is worthless. Please be more considerate.
-92
I have to ask, do any of you people have any friends (and by "you people" I mean those who turned a faintly amusing sign into a hi-larious joke about accreditation)? Do you have any normal social interactions at all, or does the douchebaggery take up all your time? How many of you have jobs, by the way?
Most of you maggots wouldn't have a fucking clue what to do if ole' mary jane rottencrotch pulled her panties down in front of you!
a black professor in a race related attack on a white woman? Non news in Obamaland.
100 -
I am currently seeking employment. Thus far, I have not been able to land any interviews. Firms keep telling me that they will not interview me because my school (UC Davis) is unaccredited.
-92, 99
100 - you probably go to UC-Davis. Not being accredited is no joke! It can seriously hinder your chances of passing the bar.
After the racist black Columbia professor is fired for beating down a white woman professor, will UC Davis Law give him an honorary degree? Will they hire him as an adjunct?
"Glug, glug, glug," said Mohammad,
"Damn, where my 72 bitches?"
The D.C. Sniper has been executed.
Am I a bad walrus for feeling giddy about this?
I mean, his last name was "Muhammad" after all. President Obama had urged us not to jump to any conclusions about Muslims who commit mass murders against innocents in the name of jihad. It's only fair to jump to conclusions about racist Cambridge cops.
Hey DOJ Secure guy, do I have clearance to call Muhammad a bad person? I don't want to be insensitive to his religion or anything.
RELIGIOUS P.C. INSECURE
104- Yup, I did go to Davis, I passed the bar, and now have a job paying market. Good luck to you on passing the bar, getting a job, and not making every person you meet want to walk in the opposite direction.
The ABA accreditation-related pwnage of UC Davis students in this thread has been epic and lulzy. Thanks for the laughs.
16 and 54: can a "tone" rise to the level of racism?
And if so, what are we to make of the numerous, egregious instances in which it is assumed that white people are exercising a prerogative to behave badly to African Americans---even when they have not acted at all, much less acted in a racist way (as in the Duke lacrosse alleged rape case, or the Tawana Brawley hoax).
Most of the MSM jumped on the narrative that the Duke lacrosse team was guilty of Jim Crow racism--the assumption that those players were acting out of racial animus.
Now, in your definition, were the New York Times, and Professor Houston Baker (who infamously referred to the as-yet unjudged lacrosse team as "barnyard animals"), acting as racists?
Please explain.
Really, 16/54, let's have a dialogue.
"President Obama had urged us not to jump to any conclusions about Muslims who commit mass murders against innocents in the name of jihad. It's only fair to jump to conclusions about racist Cambridge cops."
Good point. Very good point.
If peeing your pants is cool, consider me Miles (Davis)!
I think it's CLEAR that a black professor can PUNCH a white female teacher and expect the leftists in the media to give him a pass.
Likewise, a black female stripper can make up a rape allegation and expect the leftists in the media to take the bait, hook, line and sinker for months on end.
This is why no one watches the mid-stream media anymore.
94
You should really get your facts straight. The "quotes" were not falsely attributed to Limbaugh, one "quote" was. The rest of the racist shit he was accused of spewing was completely accurate. So do you think the bloods or the crips will win this weekend's Vikings game?
As a fellow UCD Law student....
Unfortunately, that sign is completely fake. I have never seen it in the lab. Additionally, there are no wood surfaces in the computer lab!
The only wood surfaces at UC Davis are the desks in our classrooms or our carrels in the library (never seen anything of this sort there either).
It appears that this is only a lame attempt by an UC Davis student to post something to ATL.
who cares about accredidation? it's not like accredidation would make any difference. these kids aren't finding jobs either way
114, you're going to have to do better than that.
Also, did you know that Limbaugh has repeatedly challenged MSNBC to go a whole month without mentioning him on the air?
They can hardly go 24 hours. It's REALLY pathetic.
I love you, 10. You have truly brought out the best of the best at UC Davis. If I was on the accreditation committee of the ABA, I would certainly grant accreditation to that school for the laughs its students have provided me tonight. I would hire its graduates to serve as my personal court jesters, to juggle things and eat fire sticks in the corner of my office while I work (for the laughs, you know?) Sadly, however, I am not on the accreditation committee of the ABA, so I am afraid that UC Davis must remain unaccredited.
114, you're going to have to do better than that.
Also, did you know that Limbaugh has repeatedly challenged MSNBC to go a whole month without mentioning him on the air?
They can hardly go 24 hours. It's REALLY pathetic.
I did some research, and I found a website that says that UC-Davis isn't accredited. I think it should clear up this issue once and for all.
http://tinyurl.com/y9gkcqx
What is this UC Davis? Is it like a disease - as in, "thankfully I didn't get the swine flu but I got the damn UC Davis"?
How can a disease be accredited by the ABA? Please advise.
Best. Comment. Thread. Ever.
The best ATL bar accreditation comments of all time are on the Brandeis/ Louisville article about the law library staffer. I laughed until I cried on that one. Do an ATL search for it for a little comic relief. Enjoy!
will elie post the columbia professor race story?
I'd like to change the subject:
Where exactly was Barry Soetero born, and WHY did he pick up the alias "Barack Hussein Obama"?
Legal Lesbians!
When I was at UCD Mrs. Krabappel and Principal Skinner were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby looked at me.
127: Stop talking about s-e-x in front of the c-h-i-l-d-r-e-n.
This (fake) sign must be about a pair of lesbians. I want a chick's hands down my pants not up my shirt.
123 thanks, I couldn't get enough of this thread and then fell out of my chair reading the Brandeis thread.
This is the prize of ATL comments: "The ABA website specifically says the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. I'm admittedly not familiar with the effects renaming has on a law schools accreditation. I do know they didn't change locations or anything similar. I've found no evidence they are not accredited, nor are they on the provisionally accredited list. Maybe the renaming thing isn't all that important?"
117
Did you know that Limbaugh made that offer AFTER Olbermann challenged him to go 1 month without mentioning MSNBC.
On another note, you probably are one of the dumbshits that think carrie is being persecuted for being a conservative christian pornographer.
102,
Not article at ATL maybe because the black prof is a homosexual.
I used to rail on my girlfriend at my law school's library study rooms.
Some nervous innuendo-filled bar conversations with other law students led me to believe that others did the same thing.
aaaaaand jay lichter's actions have made above the law.
120 - Your link is helpful but only shows sources of *opinion*. Seriously, does anyone have *proof* regarding to accreditation status of UC Davis? I am thinking of taking the LSAT soon and would like to select my target schools. If UCD is not accredited, I will move it to the "safe" list.
ill take the assara chick and a skadden legal assistant in a threesome
135 - Yolo County's agricultural presence and corresponding job opportunities has made UCD out of reach even for Honor Roll students with perfect attendance
UC Davis is unaccredited? I'll never get a job in Sacramento city government now!
-UC Davis 1L
Friends from my high school used to tip cows with King Hall 1L's all the time.
Is UCD accredited? This is going to hurt their chances of ever regaining what they lost me thinks.
...It was no big deal.
Dewey & LeBoeuf lays off attorneys..................
UCD unaccredited? Believe it
108 - you take yourself too seriously. lighten up! just b/c UCD is not accredited does not mean you can't get a job and pass the bar. you've accomplished the near impossible! bravo to you i say! bravo!
- 104
It's just a shame that all these UC-Davis students will only be able to sit for the California baby bar. If UC-Davis school of law was actually ABA accredited, the school would probably teach them how to think like a lawyer and how to cite to authority.
Davis is clearly a real university, although it is unclear whether it has an ABA-accredited law school: http://weber.edu/wsudavis/
Davis is in Utah. After reading the Brandeis/Louisville comment thread (thanks, 123), I am familiar with the "slingshot" loophole where baby bars are concerned. Is there a "Salt Lake Slingshot" that Davis students are able to avail themselves of in order to receive admission to the CA bar? Can anyone clarify?
ditto 133
70 and 94 tied ftw, and a weak performance by PE.
GOD, this thread has so much going for it! The suspense: Is UC Davis/Weber an ABA Accredited law school? Was the photo from the computer lab real? And, interspersed with the hilarity of the UC Davis students comments on accreditation and the legitimacy of the PDA sign, there's the epic soap box battle between Affirmative Walrus and others on racism and black on white violence. Amazing. Way to stay focused, Affirmative Walrus et al.
OMG, the accreditation jokes are, like, SOOOO FUNNY!!!! They're almost as funny as the UPenn State jokes! You guys are, like, so clever!!!!
...but seriously folks, do you people have any social skills at all? Do any of you even leave the house anymore?
Hey 129, I'm openly lesbian and I want my chick's hands down my pants too--fuck my tits (not literally.)
Delete post 149! It is racist . . .
or gay . . .
AND RACIST!!!!
To all the racists on the board: why you gotta make it all about race? This is another example of how men are violent not only against other men, but against women in far larger numbers than women are against men. Disagree with a man, get hit in the face. Date a man, get hit in the face. Fuck that noise. Black people/liberals/architects are no more responsible for the criminal act of a single individual then men are. Trust me, plenty of crimes get committed against black people that do not get reported in the mainstream media. Little white girl gets kidnapped and goes missing, white woman gets kidnapped and goes missing, it is all over the news. A latina woman, also pregnant, also middle class, disappeared in the bay area around the same time Laci Peterson did. Do you know her name? When little black girls disappear, they don't get national media coverage, check out, say, what about our daughters. A black serial killer took out at least 11 (probably all black) women because their black relatives were not taken seriously when they tried to report them as missing. Other black women who escaped his clutches also made reports to the police, and he was free to continue his rampage because no one cared. So inform your discourse on race before you go off trying to pick a fight you don't even understand. No one should punch no one else in the face. That is a no brainer. But since he is being prosecuted, and since you seem to believe he's guilty (although you knew the Duke lacrosse players were innocent how? that woman had bruises on her too), what is your issue? This blog does not cover every assault case, neither person is a law professor, so you're just trying to stir up trouble.
And BTW, if it had been a white prof., it would have still been wrong. Dumbass.
152,
Why do we "have" to make it about race? They were having an argument about race, and the black guy punched the white woman in the face. The rest of your post is just a distraction from the issue.
I love LOVE the slurping sound.
Kash and Carrie SECURE
Hey--glad I stumbled on this thread. I'm going to be doing a document production next week near the UCDavis campus. I'm unfamiliar with the area. Can anyone recommend any good restaurants or nightlife?
I enjoyed a UC Davis slut. All it took was a call back. She swallowed like a pro. Unfortunately, we don't actually make offers to sub-T14.
152: When a black or a liberal can't think of an appropriate response, they brandish the word "racism".
Homey don' play that shit no more. Grow up.
Thanks, 148.
I will not hibernate until we reach equality - outcome equality, that is.
114,
In that spirit, I feel it's my moral imperative to "really get my facts straight." Quotes is indeed plural, my friend. Perhaps because there were two:
Fake quote 1: "I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark."
Fake quote 2: "You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed."
Got that, you racist, hate-mongering, race-baiting, hate-crimering, walrus-killing, neo-conning Eskimo? Huh, you got that? Don't make me punch you in the face like some privileged white woman. I got your comeuppance right here.
Oh, and the Vikings play the Lions this week. So I'm going to have to go with the Crips.
GANGSTER FOOTBALL SECURE
152,
I didn't understand a thing you just said, but I like it.
Keep fighting against the hate, my brother. We will overcome - with the help of entitlements.
You're incoherent, 152. The issue is not whether the estimable Ms. Mangum had bruises. I'll bet the white woman at Columbia has some, too. The issue is that the whole world jumped onto a racial narrative with the Duke lacrosse team, and positively luxuriated in painting a narrative of supposed white privilege.
But in this case--particularly when the prof appears, by all counts, to have lectured the white woman on "white privilege"--we are to abstain from racial comment? Why?
Personally, I don't think it's a good idea to jump on racial narratives at all. But how in the world do you have any basis for claiming that imputing a racial narrative to the Duke lacrosse team, and to Tawana Brawley's supposed assailants (remember that she had alleged injuries, too?), is a wonderful step forward, but is racist in the Columbia case?
No, don't lecture me, or anyone else on this board, about coming to a fight they can't win. You represent the worst that this board has to offer.
Don't be jealous we be getting play in the computer lab. People getting play in the computer lab aren't concerned with accreditation.
A 15 year old girl was gang raped repeatedly in Richmond, California (about 25 miles NE of San Francisco) about two weeks ago.
Just found out, indirectly, that she was white, and her assailants overwhelmingly Latino. The racial component was not reported in the MSM, such as the San Francisco Chronicle.
Does ANYone believe that if the races had been reversed--say, a group of whites brutalizing a black or Latino girl--the MSM would have remained quiet?
I believe those who quickly label others "racist" simply want a dialogue. You remember, our Attorney General thinks we are a nation of cowards, for being unwilling to talk candidly about race. The only problem is that those who seek such a dialogue define it in the following way:
"dialogue"=blacks berating and lecturing whites for supposed racism, and whites meekly accepting this black verbal abuse
You bitch and you bitch and you bitch, but you still voted for Obama...
word!!!!!!!!!! You all are hatttttttttttters. Just b/c you all went through law school (or your whole life) without getting laid doesn't mean you should hate on the ballers at UCD. Yup we are top 40 and we are irresistibly sexy so suck it bitches!!!
164,
Your terse remarks provide a legion of evidence of your imbecility.
165 is trying very hard to sound intelligent
164, my "terse" remarks???? hahahha . your comment provides a legion of evidence that you need to take a laxative.
Agreed,
This is the very best thread ever. It's like a literary miracle.
Does anybody really believe that Obama hates white people and is a racist?
Discuss.
Obama would subject white people in this country to slavery for hundreds of years if he could, just to teach them a lesson.
True/False?
this thread is off the chain, 165 you forgot to take your butt plug out :)
Obama holds secret meetings every third Wednesday in November with Reverend Wright, Tony Rezko, and Bill Ayers.
They're totally scheming a plot to take over the country, force Christians to become Muslims, and steal all the white women for themselves.
I read it on the internet.

How does calling Limbaugh a racist offend you so? I thought we were same team here.

That Harvard advertisement is a complete fraud.
Hahahaha! Seriously, this thread reminds me why all law school students are the most insecure fucktardish wish-I-had-more-going-for-me-than-this losers alive.
Yes. I am a UCD 2L, and seriously, you all need fucking lives. L-O-L to any twat-stain who thinks they have something to add to this fourth-grade convo. Trust me, everyone here will get $100,000-plus paying jobs at some point, but still be wondering their testicles (and children's testicles) haven't dropped.
You're all retarded.

Please, Davis ppl, stop feeding the trolls your making us look worse -_-"
Quite exciting, this computer lab magic!
the UC Davis fuckers stank the library up like ass. these ugly cunts are giving the UVA law library fucking fuglies a run for their money. We should force them to go on display for our ugliest PDA law school couple contest.
Dear 162:
The MSM has been hardly "quiet" about the Richmond CA gang rape--which is national news--and the names of the adult attackers have been reported in the MSM.
One of the attackers was a trusted friend of the victim.
Listen, I should probably already know the answer to this, but is California even a state? TIA.
A couple of years ago, there was a TTT where two students got in trouble for consumating their relationship in a law school study room.
178 -
Hey! Another UC Davis 2L! How did you do on the "baby bar???" I had trouble with the question about naming all nine Supreme Court Justices.... I know there was a word bank, but still, it took forever!
By the way, using so much profanity and writing nonsensical sentences is not helping our school attain reaccreditation. Please think about the big picture before you post. Here's to hoping that we become reaccredited sometime soon!!
- UC Davis (unaccredited) 2L
I can end this accreditation disagreement:
UC Davis is accredited by the California Bar Association, the governing body that decides whether a law school's students may sit for the California Bar Exam. UC Davis students are able to sit for the California Bar and practice law in the state of California. The CBA is pretty lax on who it allows to take the California Bar. Even University of Phoenix Online students and UC Hastings students are typically allowed to take the California Bar, even though these schools are not accredited.
Commenters saying that UC Davis is accredited are correct. It is accredited by the CBA.
UC Davis is not, however, accredited by the American Bar Association, the governing body of law schools in the United States. UC Davis students may not practice law or sit for the bar in any state other than California. Don't worry though, because If you have a JD from UC Davis may have the opportunity to practice elsewhere after 3-5 years through reciprocity.
Commenters saying that UC Davis is unaccredited are also correct. It is not accredited by the ABA.
No time for love Dr. Jones!
Wait, so UC Davis is part of the U Cal university system and may, or may not, be accredited? That doesn't make any sense. UPENN is part of the Penn State University system, and everyone knows that it is accredited. If the university systerm is accredited, then every school in the university system is accredited. Can we move on?
Commenter 188:
You must have gone to UPenn State. The fact that a school is part of the UC system does not mean that the school is accredited by the ABA. In fact, the UC system has three schools that are not fully ABA accredited:
UC Hastings
UC Davis
UC Irvine (provisionally accredited)
The UC system doesn't care though because most UC system grads will practice in California, and the CBA allows them to sit for the bar in California.
91, yes it's a theme. Islam is completely incompatible with western culture and America needs to wake up and not be so politically correct about calling out that religion for what it really is. It is NOT peaceful, NOT tolerant, and anti-free speech.
let's start using Muhammed as a swear word instead of Jesus and see how they like it. I'll start: Muh-fucking-ammed. **hopes no one chops my head off**
188 -
Your logic is faulty. UC Irvine is part of the U Cal university system, yet it is not accredited (just as UC Davis is not accredited).
So the question remains: Is UC Davis accredited by the American Bar Association? The majority of informed posters to this site seem to confirm that it is, in fact, not.
Holy shit 162, can you post some evidence of this? I've been listening to this story on and on ever since it happened, and NEVER heard this mentioned, and hell yes, if the roles had been reversed, it would be in the headline of every story.
Wait, is UPenn State the same school as the Nitney Lions?
Well, when you're in law school, you do EVERYTHING at the school- eat, sleep, etc. I worked in the library, and I'm here to tell you, people do in fact do EVERYTHING at the law school.
As a black person, I find it borderline gut-busting that white people are so outraged about unfair coverage in the media. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Centerville, VA just had a massive heroin ring busted (run by white kids) and people are genuinely upset that one of the kids dealing got 20 years in prison. Some nonsense about he's a "victim" and an "addict" and "prison is not the answer." Riddle me this, if it were a group of black kids running a heroin ring, you think anyone would give a shit about a 20 year sentence?
Oh wait. People don't. STFU about the media coverage of AA.

A lot of people fed the trolls on this thread
Elie is like the real-life Ron Burgundy, he will post anything you send him to this blog... and I mean A-NY-THING.
Good job commenters - you turned a clearly throwaway thread into a comedic masterpiece, although the wheels kind of came off after Legal Fraternity Lothario.
182: that's not my point. The rape may have been much in the news, but the racial composition of attackers vs. victim has been shielded from disclosure. Had the situations been reversed, we would be subject to endless entreaties in the MSM about white privilege and brutality.
192: assuming you're not being ironic, check out Sandy Banks' column in the LA Times about 3-4 days ago, in which she defends that the race of the victim has not been featured.
195: do "black persons" usually put that amount of thought in their commentary?
182: one more thing.
Not sure the significance that you attach to the fact that one of her "trusted friends" was an attacker. I guess that's a formerly "trusted" friend.
But, in reverse, consider the headline: "White Man--Trusted Friend of Abuse Black Girl--Gang Rapes Her".
Affirmative Walrus: You are the best shtick on here in a very long time--hilarious. Another great one was future Elie, what ever happened to him?
This thread was epic. Absolutely epic. Great job accreditation trolls, UC Davis retards, Affirmative Walrus, incoherent black people, racists, and everyone who investigated the veracity of the sign. Best commentary in quite some time.
At least the sign didn't prohibit playing with lobsters
I finally get the " Legal Fraternity Lothario" schtick.
"guys in my high school used to [do this] all the time. it was no big deal." on steriods.
202,
maybe "future Elie" has gone back...
to the future.

Geniuses,
Whites rape non-whites more than vice versa. That said, when is the last time you recall the rape of a black or latina woman being covered in the national news? You've got everything backwards. If the victim is a member of the majority race, it gets covered, regardless of the race of the perpetrator. If the victim is a minority, it doesn't, regardless of the race of the perpetrator. Crimes committed against black people, whether by white people or black people, receive less harsh sentences.
I don't have to defend every person who holds my political views and punches someone in the face, just like you don't have to defend everyone who holds your political views and does oxycodone/bangs children/bangs gay people but isn't really gay/embezzles money--which is a damn good thing for you, because your party either does more of it or gets caught.
So, tell me, would you have jumped to the defense of the duke lacrosse teams if they'd been accused of raping a white woman? Or if they'd been black? Because I cannot remember the last time one of you fucktards have jumped to the defense of anyone who isn't white and/or republican. But refresh my memory. Maybe you have. Let's have some names, please.
205 = Legal Fraternity Lothario
I defended Rush Limbaugh when he raped all those minority boys.
207,
I rushed to the defense of OJ simpson. and turns out I was right!! he was innocent!
this thread was epic
all highlights aside, the fact that the accreditation trolls managed to stir up people FOR REAL and get them ansy-in-the-pantsy was worth the read

ATL posters are clearly morons and/or are at lower ranked schools and are jealous of UCD.

How idiotic are you? Your post was the icing on this troll cake. You have proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, that you are mentally retarded.
And to top it all off, you are wrong. UC Davis lost its accreditation with the ABA a while back and is in the process of reapplying. Please read the comments above if you need verification. I'm not sure whether it is "conditionally accredited," but it is my understanding that the reapplication may take several years.
peanuts? cheese? anyone?
Boalt 2L here --
I am so glad I did NOT go to King Hall...even though they offered me a full scholarship. The economy is already saturated with attorneys...if I had went to UNaccredited Davis...I'd definitely still be looking for a job.

Who's UC Davis? Did he used to play for the Lakers?
219 - Lol. You think anyone's going to believe you got a full ride to Davis and you go to Boalt when you don't even know Davis is accredited? Pray tell why did you even apply to an "UNaccredited Davis" if you had a shot at Boalt?
Hope you're having fun at Lincoln loser.
58: Cocksucker.
216, you are a dipshit spreading LIES.
UCD Law is fully accredited, always has been. Maybe you are thinking of the Vet school? Either way, you are a moron.
From Wiki:
The University of California, Davis School of Law (referred to as UC Davis School of Law and commonly known as King Hall and UC Davis Law) is an American Bar Association-accredited law school located in Davis, California on the campus of the University of California, Davis. By design, UC Davis School of Law is the smallest of the five law schools in the University of California system, with a total enrollment of just under 600 students. Located in a building named for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and commonly referred to as King Hall, the School is deeply committed to preserving Dr. King's ideal of social and political justice."
Oh and I went there over USC and UCLA. Hope you are having a good experience at Lincoln!
I graduated from UCD a couple years ago and I got paid $120K starting. Jealous much :)
216, pull your head out of your ass and go to the ABA's website if you need further confirmation. Or better yet, stop wasting time on ATL and keep studying for the Bar exam. Maybe you'll eventually pass it and get a job paying you $50K-- LOSER.
http://www.abanet.org/legaled/statistics/stats.html
189 - you missed on. University of California Western School of Law is also provisionally accredited.
223 -
Wikipedia? The free encyclopedia that anyone can edit? Nice try, but you added that accredited part yourself. Everyone knows that UC Davis is not accredited by the ABA.
225 -
Your ad hominem attacks do not hurt me. Your institution's lack of accreditation will, however, hurt your job search.
- 216
Um...I'm not sure who the idiots posting about the ABA issue are...but...
http://www.abanet.org/legaled/approvedlawschools/alpha.html
221 - maybe he preferred to go to a well-regarded private school and pay the higher tuition? There are many reasons (accreditation aside) why someone would chose not to attend a smaller state school.
People....
It's a JOKE that is posted in just about every thread that is related to a law school.
Yes. UC Davis is accredited.
Perhaps you are unfamiliar with ATL. Fine. But stop feeding the accreditation trolls, you are making yourselves look bad.
228: eek!
230 - YOU'RE joking, right..?
228 wins! Davis is clearly NOT listed under "D" - therefore, Davis is UNACCREDITED!!!
Davis is STILL BETTER than Hastings!!!
REALITY: The AALS (American Association of Law Schools) revoked their approval of UCD over the summer which MEANS that the ABA cannot give full accreditation. THEY'RE TWO SEPARATE accrediting organizations, PEOPLE!
You can't be "accredited" with one and not the other. Now, it may change next summer when AALS reassesses things (like they do EVERY year), but until then you can't technically say a school is "accredited."
Can we end this now?
Can we keep this thread going until Christmas?
WHO'S with me?
Yes. We. Can!
Seriously, who has time to be an accreditation troll? Don't you people have work to do? Studying? Drinking? Hockey to watch? Something?
-- Off to watch hockey
The ABA is an AWFUL professional association that doesn't even update its website when a school loses its accrediation.
More UC Davis students lied about their accrediation today much than UC Hastings students did last week...
So many UCD kids getting pwned; they must all be so anxious and have so much time on their hands without accreditation or jobs. So sad, but simultaneously hilarious.
UCD = Cooley Law School of California.
Actually, I take that back. At least Cooley is accredited.
-H/Y/S SECURE!
More proof that the UC Davis students are a bunch of idiots:
179: "Please, Davis ppl, stop feeding the trolls your making us look worse -_-"
Really, you still don't know the difference between your and you're?
No wonder Davis lost its accreditation. Have fun sitting for the baby bar Davis 1Ls.
40: UBER FAIL
http://www.abanet.org/legaled/approvedlawschools/alpha.html
Look under D. Davis isn't listed. Hence, Davis is UNaccredited.
Retard.
-H/Y/S SECURE!
Still not sure whether or not UCD is accredited...Please advise!
UCD CONFUSION SECURE!
I'm a UCD law student and I don't know whether we're accredited. I don't really care I went to law school to follow a chick anyways...
229-
Please, please, please tell me you're joking. Surely you know that Boalt = Berkeley Law, another UC law school and thus not private.
My comment refers to that fact that no one accomplished enough to get into UC Berkeley or get a full ride at UC Davis would be dumb enough to apply to an non ABA-accredited institution. 219's story does not add up. He or she clearly does not go to Berkeley, but Lincoln Law in Sacramento.

California-Davis
You are clearly not intelligent enough to know that...
God who the hell are you idiots?
Haha...221 and 225...well said!
Sweet Jesus this place has more trolls than 4chan.
247 -
You seem to be confused. The purpose of this thread is to ascertain whether Davis is accredited by the ABA and a member in good standing with the AALS.
Your citation to "California-Davis" appears to be a different institution. While "California-Davis" (has anyone heard of this school?) appears to be accredited, the question remains whether DAVIS is accredited by the ABA. I see that under "D" Davis is not listed, which seems to confirm that Davis is not accredited by the ABA as the majority of informed posters have already indicated.
250 FTW.
California-Davis is not Davis. 247 is a moron.
221 (246),
You're quick to jump to conclusions. I've never even heard of Lincoln until you kept on mentioning it. Did you go there? Sounds like an online law school or something. Anyway, yes, I did get a full ride to King Hall. But why would I check into it's ABA status when I got into Boalt? I couldn't be bothered.
-219
246 - you're one of these (un)funny UPenn State trolls, right? University of California - public. Berkley - private. What's your next (un)funny argument - that it's part of the University of California school system? That it merged with UC a while back?
Please save your breath.
- 229
Trolling is a art.
Commenter 253,
Comments like yours are the reason I read this website. I am from the East coast and I was unaware that Berkley merged with UC a while back. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I only wonder why Berkley, a great institution with a good reputation, would agree to be grouped with the likes of Hastings, Davis, and Irvine, all schools that are not accredited by the ABA?
Maybe you can shed light on this topic for me.
247 - Go to the link, and view the "source" of that webpage. That webpage was last updated in 1999, which is about 4 year prior to Davis losing its accreditation status under the ABA. See comment 239 - the ABA needs some help.
u guys are all idiots... university of california davis law school=king hall

I guess the issue is settled. UC Davis is not accredited by the American Bar Association.
That means: Cooley > UC Davis
Thanks for the lively discussion everyone. It was very informative.
257-259 -
Your inability to correctly post a comment betrays your institution's lack of accreditation by the ABA.
Nowhere in your rant have you provided proof of accreditation. Please review the comments above. All of the objective evidence indicates that UC Davis is not accredited by the ABA and is not a member in good standing with the AALS.
The issue has been settled, UC Davis is not accredited. Believe it.
I don't regularly look at this, but the comments on this silly story certainly support my belief that the best and the brightest of today's legal community sit in fancy big city offices bored, doing nothing, and talking about their legal degrees.
"UCD is projected to rank in the 20s in the coming year..."
Wow. Not only do you sound whiny and pathetic, but I'm not sure how UC Davis is going to move up in the rankings when it's not fully accredited. Good luck with that!
I'm considering attending law school and am confused about UC Davis' accredidation status. Is there anyone who can help to clarify what the actual situation is?
264, it is accredited-- 100%-- by the California state bar. So, it's not a bad choice if you're absolutely sure that you want to practice in the state of California. If there's even a chance you wish to attend elsewhere, Davis is a bad option due to the lack of ABA accreditation. They say they'll get it back by 2012, but I wouldn't take that chance.
I enjoy this thread but I have to give it a B+. If I was going to make things up about Davis I would say that accreditation was taken away and the ABA has stated it can not be regained. I would at least try to be more creative. And why are we handing out bones? Why should they be accredited by the state? I wish I got here a little earlier, it could have been fun.
No. 264 (and anyone else that is "confused" about Davis' accreditation) - if you seriously find ATL to be a reliable source then don't waste your money applying - it's a small school and won't be taking you no matter how diverse you are.
Everyone else - please carry on.
266 -
"If I was going to make things up about Davis"
Nothing in this thread is made up. We are discussing facts and only facts. If you want to "make up things about Davis," perhaps you should contact ATL for a serial fiction gig.
266 is a very subtle Davis troll, possibly hired by the administration. Nice try, Davis.
#13, you're an idiot who can't get a job no matter what. Don't blame a black man for it.
