Who Is Yale Law School's Most Disgraceful Graduate?A gallery of seven rogues and a poll.

1. BILL CLINTON

Positions: founder, William J. Clinton Foundation; 42nd president of the United States; former governor and attorney general of Arkansas; husband of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The case for disgrace: Does the name Monica Lewinsky ring a bell? The curvaceous and comely intern certainly rang Bill Clinton’s. After having “sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky,” and then lying about it under oath, Clinton became only the second U.S. president to be impeached (after Andrew Johnson). He is also rumored to have had affairs with a whole host of other women, before, during, and after his presidency.

And there were non-sexual scandals too: Travelgate, Filegate, Troopergate, Pardongate, and Whitewater (which led to L’Affaire Lewinsky).

The case against: Since leaving the White House, Clinton has rehabilitated his image nicely. He founded the William J. Clinton Foundation, which has done remarkable charitable work on a wide range of global problems. Clinton himself has been involved in relief efforts for the Asian tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, and the Haitian earthquake. Last year, he won the release of two female American journalists imprisoned in North Korea (and he didn’t even try to hook up with them afterward, as far as we know).
