Lawyerly Lairs: Three Partners' Palatial Pads

Stephen Kotran, an M&A partner at S&C, was one of the dramatis personae in Charney v. Sullivan & Cromwell, gay lawyer Aaron Charney’s lawsuit against the white-shoe law firm. Charney accused S&C lawyers of anti-gay discrimination and retaliation — but Kotran, according to Charney, was one of the good guys.

As summed up by one source:

Charney’s initial complaint makes clear that at every phase Kotran bucked the system (refused to do what his partners wanted him to do) in order to do what he felt was right. This is storybook s**t! How many partners at top-tier law firms are made of such stuff? I, for one, would love to know more about the man who appears to be the lone hero of this story.

So let’s learn more about Steve Kotran. He’s married to Elizabeth Goldman, a clinical professor at Cardozo Law School. And last month they purchased a $6.2 million townhouse on the Upper West Side.

Yes, we know: pics or it didn’t happen. So, pics — or a pic, at least….
