There are several reasons to steer clear of fake baking, such as the heightened risk of cancer and of turning out looking like Snooki. But there’s one other novel reason to avoid Sunkissed Tanning and Spa in western Pennsylvania. Two women allege that the tanning salon had cameras hidden in the ceilings, which captured clients stripping down before getting into their tanning beds.

The filming allegedly happened in 2006 and 2007. How did the women discover they were secretly being videotaped? When footage of them disrobing wound up on a porn site that they discovered last summer.

How did they come across the XXX site? I dunno. Fortunately, they must have some pervy, porn-loving friends.

The women “seek punitive damages for negligence, privacy invasion and outrage,” according to Courthouse News Service (via PogoWasRight):

“During the month on July 2010, plaintiff, to her horror, discovered that the video of her disrobing, on defendant’s premises without her knowledge and consent, was placed and/or uploaded onto numerous pornographic websites, which are free and available to any member of the general public with Internet access.

(Plaintiffs obviously felt that their nudity was at least worthy of a pay wall.)

“To her horror, plaintiff discovered not only a video of her disrobing and in a state of nudity on the aforesaid pornographic websites, but also several other videos of numerous women who likewise were nude or in the process of changing their clothing while tanning on defendant’s premises.”

These women are probably wishing they kept their suits on and suffered tan lines.

If law enforcement gets involved, the person responsible could do some serious prison time. One of the women taped was just 15 years old, according to ABC 4, meaning that the peephole filmer at Sunkissed Tanning and Surreptitiously Filming Spa could be slapped with some creation and distribution of child pornography charges in addition to privacy crimes.

The women are seeking over $50,000 in punitive damages. All in all, not a bad payday for a XXX-rated appearance. But I think everyone can agree that GTL time is better minus hidden cameras.
