Meanwhile, there are so many McConaughey lawyer characters, it’s hard to pick just one. I went with McConaughey in Time to Kill because McConaughey was born to play one of these sweaty, Southern, Grisham characters. And because the scene where the white lawyer fights the NAACP establishment for the right to represent his black client makes me happy. And because, even though he didn’t say it, “Yes they deserved to die and I hope they burn in hell,” will probably be my dying words.
