If you’ve never worked with a partner who might refer to himself in the third person while he hangs onto his corner office long past his prime, you’ve just never worked in Biglaw. And if you think there would ever be a list of 32 characters that could include one played by William Shatner but did not do so, you just haven’t been paying attention to the finer things in life.

But Denny Crane is not a slam dunk to move on to the next round. Because I’ll not be the first guy to say of Ronnie, the D.A. in The Wire, and exclaim “Man, would I like to throw a f*** into her.” Ronnie’s story arch is very cool and very positive in a show that can sometimes leave you feeling like things are hopeless. And for what it’s worth, the show shows just how intimately a good prosecutor works with the police, and she’s not a stereotypical hack like the other lawyer on the show.
