Fictional Lawyer Madness: Your Favorite Fictional Lawyers of the Past 30 Years

3) Arnie Becker (Corbin Bernsen; L.A. Law)

v.

6) Romo Lampkin (Mark Sheppard; Battlestar Galactica)

Let me try to explain it this way, there was a certain point in the 80s where people were going to law school (admittedly a less expensive proposition back then), because of Arnie Becker. Becker (and L.A. Law in general) changed the way lawyers were portrayed. Before L.A. Law, lawyers were for the most part grandfatherly justice seekers (Atticus Finch), mystery crime solvers (Perry Mason), or Mr. Anti-Semitic “Shyster” Stereotype. Now her comes Becker and he’s a well-dressed, amoral (as opposed to immoral) charismatic guy who gets the ladies? It was like a guy from a drama about doctors showed up on the wrong set.

Impressive, but not as impressive as defending the human responsible for the mass genocide of humanity, having a semi-nervous breakdown involving a dead cat, and then becoming president of the last remnants of humanity.
