Honestly TSA, WTF Is Wrong With You?

We live in strange times. Unreasonable times. Times when the federal government has stopped rationally protecting people and started irrationally molesting people. What has the TSA done now?

My friends, we live in strange times. Unreasonable times. Times when the federal government has stopped rationally protecting people and started irrationally molesting people.

And as we move into the 2012 election season I ask: “Who the F**K do I have to vote for to keep the TSA out of my a$$.” Literally. Which candidate can I look to who will fight to stop unwarranted molestation as a prerequisite for air travel?

Or has the TSA truly reached a military-industrial complex level where even the President is powerless in the face of the agency?

The story today is the TSA supporting the decision to pat down a 95-year-old woman, including making her remove her adult diaper. Yeah. This happened in America.

As @kashhill just said on Twitter: “OMFG, TSA.”

CNN has the totally freaking ludicrous story:

The Transportation Security Administration stood by its security officers Sunday after a Florida woman complained that her cancer-stricken, 95-year-old mother was patted down and forced to remove her adult diaper while going through security…

“While every person and item must be screened before entering the secure boarding area, TSA works with passengers to resolve security alarms in a respectful and sensitive manner,” the federal agency said. “We have reviewed the circumstances involving this screening and determined that our officers acted professionally and according to proper procedure.”

First of all: F*** you, TSA. You are supposed to be protecting us, but at this point you are… terrorizing us. You have arbitrary and capricious rules that you apply without the aid of common sense. I mean where did TSA officials get their training, Abu Ghraib?

Secondly: F*** you, us. F*** me, f*** you, f*** this country — this country built on liberty — for becoming such a cowardly collection of docile and terrified sheep that we allow this to happen. They’re molesting and humiliating grandmothers, and we do nothing. They’re touching little children, and we do nothing. It’d be better to live in an America that didn’t have planes than live in one that does this to its citizens without public outcry and action.

So honestly, I don’t want to talk about fiscal policy, or unemployment, or stimulus (the President has surprisingly little effect on “the economy,” anyway). I don’t want to talk about health care or abortion — we’ll just wait for Justice Kennedy to tell us what kind of health care we’re allowed to have and whether or not a woman still has the right to choose.

I want to talk about which Presidential candidate has the stones to stand up to and stop the freaking TSA. Can Romney flash Blue Steel and make them stop? If TSA tries to extend it’s authority to Air Force One, will it cause Obama to notice how everybody else travels? Is there any Congressperson who is running on a platform of stopping this madness?

The TSA is now operating above the goddamn law. Who will stop them?
